WJ. Jeffery 500 rifle optics mounting?

While browsing around on the Jeffery page I noticed that the 404 is built with a double square bridge action while the 500 gets a single bridge action.

I'm sure it's mostly intended that an optic wouldn't be mounted on that caliber of rifle but if someone did want a low power type optic would they be just out of luck on a rifle like that or are there means of mounting something on a single bridge rifle like that?

If one were to drill and tap the bridge it would most likely be possible to mount a scope on it using for example Recknagel or EAW swing mount like on the picture below. As you can see the forward scope base is made for a round bridge. All this assuming that the bridge would be the same curvature as a standard Mauser K98/M98.

We can supply Double Square bridge actions for the .500 J rifles but it is possible to use other QD mounts with a single square bridge. It is anticipated that most would use the iron sights though. Alternatively a red dot sight can be fitted. On my own CZ Custom .500 I use a Trijicon dot sight mounted on the rear sight block.

HI all, here is a Short update on our America trip, I currently in Houston and have 2 more meetings here before movings North toward Oklahoma, Missouri and Iowa, and from there I will head to Colorado and Idaho,I have been met with great hospitality and friendship, and have met several new and old clients and we are going to book the rest of 2025 season quick and have several dates booked for 2026!
