Your favored airline case?

Pelican IM3300 stormcase, a little wider, cheaper, better handles and latches than the standard Pelican 1750 case.

Hardigg IM3300 (Same thing really as Pelican now owns them.)
It looks like a gun case but it takes a beating, has wheels, pressure compensation and is waterproof.

I have 2. that i use...and they make cases for bows also...

Americase... and get the cover for the case...i have single and double cases. they will custom make a case for your rifles. and the cover to go with it plus will put your name and address on it. they also make a lockable shell case.

Tuffpak... this case will hold up to 3 long guns and the soft cases...

I have a Kalispel "The Original". It is made from aluminum, has wheels and a locking bar that slides thru four hasps. Holds two scoped rifles easily,.It has been to Africa four times without a problem. I highly recommend.

Tuffpak - accepts your rifles in their soft cases (which you generally need anyhow), relatively light, and if you're still under the weight limit, add shooting sticks, socks, underwear, boots, etc ....

The latches on the Pelican 1750 are useless for airline travel. If you don't mind the case arriving with all the latches undone and the only thing holding the case shut is the pad locks, then go for it.

Maybe the latches on the Pelican stormcases are better. I don't plan to find out because I don't plan on giving Pelican another dime for a gun case.

If the Tuffpak design is not what you're looking for, the latches on Boyt's hard case are considerablly better than the Pelican 1750 latches.

As always, just my opinion, but it is based on personal experience. I have tried the Tuffpak, Boyt and Pelican 1750.

I have no use for the 1750 latches either.

I think if you saw the vast improvements that went into the Stormcases (as mentioned, designed by Hardigg) you would be swayed. The latches are heavy duty yet easy to open but will not pop open due to the fact that a button must be depressed while the latch is being opened. The handles located on the side and end have rubberized grips and fold down when not in use. The wheels are great and the abuse they take is monumental. I had papers and such stuck all over mine, most of which were shredded and destroyed yet the case has a few scratches and the contents completely unharmed. These cases were designed for the US military and as such are designed to be thrown from helicopters and keep their contents safe. They are money well spent IMO.

Pelican 1750. So far the airlines have not been able to break it. I've seen it roughly handled multiple times, but the rifles have come out still zeroed in. That's what counts to me.

My Pelican 1750 has been on many trips and I love it. Africa three times and no issues. I can only assume that the people with latch issues are over packing clothes etc in there. I have never dreamed that this case would have latch issues because I just can not see it happening. It has wheels and the black exterior makes it not show scratches etc. I also have two ammo cases to match and they are equally as good. I've had such good luck with Pelican I now have a large ice chest and just ordered a luggage set!

I used CCI Alum cases for my daughter and I. They make the good HD Alum cases for Cabelas. I got mine direct from them. They had a special on last years Cabelas model so I got one at a reduced cost. The other and the 2 custom ones for my 50BMG rifles I got direct.
They are excellent cases.

I use a plano interlock for both rifle and bow
havnt had any problem with yet
will be using them til I do ......
they claim you can drive over them in your car . but the bloke at the gunshop wouldn't let me put one of his riffles off the shelf in, it to see ..........
so its an unproven , so called fact........
but it has never let me down

I have a Two Rifle SKB, 4 TSA locks plus 2 padlocks,,came thru the Gorilla handlers in 3 countries plus the US and still looked new

Another vote for the pelican. Rifle has never lost zero upon arrival. Also has a pressure release valve.

It is bulky but due to that size you can fill it with clothes and other goods to make the most out of your excess baggage costs.
