Life is starting to slow down again after my first hunt in Zambia with Johny DuPlooy. My Father in Law and I hunted 10 days with him at the Nyakolwe Camp in the Luangwa valley. We had an absolute ball and I harvested some nice animals, not to mention Johny is an absolute riot and a blast to hunt with. Unfortunately, I think I had a little too much fun and I’m already saving up for another trip because while there, my Dad went into the hospital with Lewy Body dementia and I didn’t really get the chance to share with him the trip like I would have liked. That made me realize life is shorter than we expect, to not take any day for granted, and to not put off untill tomorrow. When I did get to finally see him on one of his good days, he jokingly asked where I was going to mount that ugly “f@&king black beast,” which put a huge smile on my face and a tear in my eye. Anyway, I’m not sure when I’ll be going back, but god willing it will be sooner than later, as Africa is in my blood.

Awesome, that is one of my favorite places in Africa! I’m glad you had such a great trip but am very sorry to hear about your dad.

Glad your dad got to share the black beast with you. Very time you look at it on the wall you are going to chuckle.

Congratulations on your successful hunt. Thanks for sharing your trophies.

Congrats on an outstanding Safari, those are some great trophies

Well done on the animals, sorry to hear about your dad, but at least you got to share some of your joy with him. Life is short.

Congrats on a great hunt , and thanks for sharing !

Sorry about your Dad, yes, life is too short, enjoy while you can.

Great hunt!

Did you see many elephant and lions?
Tons of elephants, and we had Lion in camp. I didn’t see the lions but I heard them at about 2am. I guess they gave some of the camp staff a bit of a startle when the got up to make coffee.

Nyakolwe is a special area.
I have just finished 14days on the concession to the north east.
Definitely more breeding herds of ele there. And some cheeky little b*tches!

Johnny is definitely a great guy and hunter.I hope to be hunting with him again in the next year or two.

What a great safari, and some wonderful animals taken. Sorry to hear about your dad, life is indeed too short.

BTW, noticed you wore Crispi boots. Mind sharing which model you had on during your safari and how they performed in Zambia? Thanks!

HI all, here is a Short update on our America trip, I currently in Houston and have 2 more meetings here before movings North toward Oklahoma, Missouri and Iowa, and from there I will head to Colorado and Idaho,I have been met with great hospitality and friendship, and have met several new and old clients and we are going to book the rest of 2025 season quick and have several dates booked for 2026!
That's a wrap, on our first hunt of this years season.

Hunting conditions are a bit tougher in South Africa during the month of February, but can be just as rewarding if done right.
