This would be a break through for conservation and next step would be rhino horns.

I have always told as many people as possible.

Sell 1000 rhinos to a chinese billionaire let them farm them and cut of the horns as they regrow and your poaching problem is solved as their won't be a market anymore with local distribution.

You wonder if “flooding the market” so to speak would help cull the craving for it.

Buckdshot if rhino horn price drops it makes poachers think twice before attempting to do it when being caught now the gain is just too much its like winning the lotto for them.

Same with Ivory elephants needs to be culled that could keep the market in supply.

Also people are strange when rhino would be bred for the horn and then cut off to regrow it will become normal now it's extra special driving up the prices as its not easy accesable.

We can only hope. I always find it amusing when antis say that selling ivory could encourage poaching. Clearly, NOT allowing the sale of ivory has encouraged the poaching epidemic.

I doubt that there is a true hunter on this website that doesn't want to see the elephant do well. And Zim could really use $650 million. But the anti-hunters can bribe 8 or 10 officials for $1 million each, and get permission to destroy $650 million worth of ivory, like they did in Kenya. Then all the little airheads feel smug and happy that they have done their part and saved the elephant, when they are really killing them. Let's hope that doesn't happen here. .............FWB
