Swapping hunts

Look forward to seeing how this plays out. Interesting idea.

In my jurisdiction it is completely illegal to accept any type of remuneration or trade for a hunt unless you are an Outfitter.
So, you could not invite a friend or family member to hunt with you ?

I would love to trade a Trophy Axis hunt for something. I guide on my own place and mostly just market by word of mouth so it would be great for me.
Here is a pic from last weekend.
Regards,
Philip

What does everyone else have to offer? Again it doesn't have to be just to me this is for everyone!

@BRICKBURN I was just invited to hunt Mule deer with a friend in Alberta (yes I have friends). Since he is not charging me would this be legal? Never really thought about it till I told him I love to kill a muley when he was showing me pics. He told me I have an open invitation.

Should be fine. Get yourself a license and he needs a Hunter Host licence and go for it. There are areas that are on a draw and others that are otc. You might also be able to purchase a tag from on an outfitter if they have not sold their quota. That is very rare though.
Good luck

That's all this is is two guys hunting together for no charge to one another. Kind of like hunting buddies.

If there is any “consideration” there is an issue under our law. Just a messenger

For those who may be interested.

Q&A on the subject
https://mywildalberta.ca/hunting/non-resident-hunters/hunter-hosts.aspx

Hunt while accompanied by an Alberta resident (friend or relative) who has a hunter host licence. This is a non-profit arrangement as a hunter host may not guide for gain or reward.

No. Hunter hosts do not provide services for gain or reward, or accept remuneration, directly or indirectly, for such services.

This years regs online.

I might be hunting Alberta next year. Thanks @BRICKBURN

Just realized I did not determine your residency. Just figured out you are in the US.

@BRICKBURN thank you! I'm going to see if I can make this happen. Sounds like I could do some bird hunting too without much problems.

I do this all the time in Wyoming for family and friends. As long as I don't accept any gifts or funds everything is fine.

Sounds like a good idea! Unfortunately I don't have anything at this time to offer from my end.

trperk1, I bought the Kimber Caprivi 375 back in an earlier post. You attached a target with an impressive three rounds touching 100 yards. I took the 2x10 VX5 off and put a VX6 HD Gen 2 1x6x24 Duplex Firedot on the rifle. It's definitely a shooter curious what loads you used for the group. Loving this rifle so fun to shoot. Africa 2026 Mozambique. Buff and PG. Any info appreciated.
Ready for the hunt with HTK Safaris

Hello:
I’ll take the .375 Whitworth for $1,150 if the deal falls through.
Thanks .
