Opinions on the Interarms mark x 458wm

Gunbroker item # 1098799425 It's $1600 with a leupold scope that's worth 350 to 400 so pretty close to your number if you are OK with a push feed. I didn't realize a 458 was so expensive these days.

By the time you buy the safety and have it fitted you may as well just by a used M70. Leave it as is if you want it to be a bargain.

    Replacing tuner with muzzle brake

I think the M70 is on the lighter side for a 416, at least for me. I have the Ruger RSM 416 Rigby and the recoil is stout. I have a brake on mine but plan to load down a bit. I might go to the 350 gr Barnes and load it at the starting levels, then remove the brake. I have the 375 in the...

With the belted magnum, they had to come up with a way for the extractors to snap into place between the belt and the rim in order to extract the cartridge. With a rimmed case, the rim rests on the extractor. Pic 1-shows the small protruding "bump" that is spring loaded. This snaps into the...

    Replacing tuner with muzzle brake

That is a lot of threaded barrel. I still think having the tuner drilled out (turned into a muzzle brake) might be the easiest solution. Otherwise I believe you may need to have a smith cut of part of the threaded barrel. 1.3 inches is a lot of threads. Just throwing out ideas.

My Chapuis in 375 H&H kicks out the empties just fine. I have no concerns about using it.

    Would you shoot this bull?

I would have zero interest personally. Does not do anything for me and I would not want to shoot it just for the sake of shooting it.

    Would you or wood you?

No 8 would have been my choice

    Replacing tuner with muzzle brake

I wonder if this is the BOSS system? It was my understanding that Winchester made these with either a break or just the weight to fine tune the barrels. You might look for the BOSS break. Not sure if Winchester parts might still be available. You could also probably just have the Tuner...

Holland & Holland Royal Paradox made in 1910. They are not giving it away but it is less than I expected @17K. Fantastic engraving and wood, priced close to what a 12 bore in similar condition would be, I suspect. Who else bird hunts where you run in to the occasional boar? Or buck...

    .270win and lead free ammunition

Hankbuck, Doug, great question. I have wondered as well. I have never been checked, as I have yet to run into a warden while hunting since the law went into affect. If you had factory ammo and the factory box, that might suffice. Steel shot shells are usually marked as "Steel" as are...
