So what about the other English gunmakers? Watson, Cogswell, Army Navy

Army & Navy CSL certainly retailed some pretty rifles as well as the plainer examples. I recently picked up this little A&N CSL 360 2 1/4 BPE for my collection.

Broken Hill is an interesting place, with so much history. Sorry that I will miss you this trip. Give me a hoy next time, and hopefully we can catch up. Chris

That would have been great Chris, but unfortunately I will be away with my next work project. Do you get over this way often? Where is home for you? (I'm from a family of farmers scattered around NSW)

Thanks Dan. Yes, it is the rifle that was on GI, and the barrel length is 24". Chris

Very true GV. I have handled a few 9lb rifles in 500J and whilst the recoil is stout, it is manageable, especially in a field situation

Best magnum rifle reloading press? RCBS Ammomaster2 vs Forster Coax?

I ended up with the Zero and the Heavy Prazipress 140, purely because of 50 BMG loading which the big Prazipress does with ease.

The rifle is heavy and weighs around 12lbs empty. Perfect weight for a 500 Jeffery IMO.

    Gibbs 360 No. 2 NE

Thanks BeeMaa. Yes, timing certainly is everything. It is nice to own an odd chambering that can still be used effectively for most game.

    Gibbs 360 No. 2 NE

Thanks Huvius. The previous owner has a supply of cases and dies which I will be receiving shortly, so that should keep me out of trouble for a while. I believe there are some 450/400 3" formed cases amongst them as well. The Gibbs Farquharson in 360 No. 2 would have been lovely!
