Its true function is that it give a stronger recoil vs regular 22lr conversion so that you have a closer feel to the feel and recoil of the 45 acp. Lot more recoil than standard conversion kit. Glad someone got it and got fairly close on its true function.

doesnt look like a Magna Break. Magna ports on their breaks are cut so the ports angle forward and they are cut in a "roll" type fashion to help keep the break tight...reverse threads as well. They also are larger and have a slight taper down to barrel. Looks like a standard gunsmith break...

Thread protectors are $10-$30 depending on what brand you go with. I have same rifle in 338 Win mag and its a hammer....an accurate hammer with a GREAT trigger. With the same recoil pad as on this one it doesnt kick at all. Anyway, figured id chimn in on the thread protector etc. Good luck...
