Has the standing rear leaf even been regulated (i.e., with the front-sight blade)? And if so, at what distance? 65yds? 100yds?

I do know he built some falling block rifles (farquharson style) and his guns do pop up from time to time. I have a 300 H&H M70 that he restocked. I spoke with him about a year ago on the phone. He was pretty well up in age. Nice man.

After a few questions about the sights, I was curious how close they are. 1 shot today at about 25 yards, will need some adjustment if you are interested in shooting open sights

You have a beautiful rifle. But that target indicates the front-sight’s height - in relation to the notch of the fixed leaf on the quarter-rib - was never properly regulated before sale. I’m not sure you’d even be on paper at 50-yds.
With express sights, standard regulation of the fixed/standing leaf with a front sight of correct height is a 65-yd zero, if I recall correctly (so you’d easily be on paper even if shooting at 50-yds).
Depending on how many folding leaves come after the fixed, the first folding leaf is regulated for 100-yds, then 200-yds, etc., or sometimes the first folding leaf after the fixed goes right to 200-yds, then the next to 300-yds. But a lot depends on the chambering.
A 500 ‘Monster Magnum’ might be set up with only one fixed/standing express sight that’s been zeroed at 65yds with no illusion of shooting buffalo or elephant at 300yds. Even then, with a true 65yd zero, it’s a simple matter to hold the front bead a tad high in the ‘V’ notch to hit these animals at 100-150yds.
