The Alaska guide licensing system is a ponzi scheme that keeps the good old boys in business and the competition out. There's a ton of young guys that want to follow the Alaskan dream till they find out it's all bullshit.

That is what I have done as well. The worst thing I have seen people do is get one on vacation, especially at the beginning of a trip. Now you have a wound you have to care for and keep out of the sun and water. Way to ruin your trip. @Tundra Tiger My buffalo tattoo was 2 appointments...

Busy day on Prince of Wales Limit of ducks plus a limit of deer.

I hunt near Wasilla, AK early in the year for puddlers, then move to interior Alaska for divers until freezeup. I don't hunt saltwater every year but usually go down towards Ketchikan.

We have a lot around in certain places and I always enjoy a big water diver shoot. This season was kind of weird for me on my inland sea with tough hunting. That is getting ice bound as we speak, so I'll move to the salt water for a week in November. Good times for sure.
