I had the time of my life hunting with @GAME 4 AFRICA SAFARIS in 2023. They are a top notch outfit and I’ve already booked a trip to go back in 2027 with my wife. This is a great deal Wik.
Reading hunt reports from different areas is a great way to get a feel for an outfitter and the area that they hunt. Also listening to podcasts helped me prepare myself and make me even more excited to hunt Africa. (Ph Journals, Around the Fire, and Big Game Hunting are all good ones.)

Yes it just cleared and I’m sending my final payment tonight. Finally able to get excited about them getting here. I’ll do a write up about the process when I receive them. The baboon made it take a bit longer but it was worth the wait.
Last year was
Looking forward to hunting with you and the guys again in Seymour. Doves might not be as exciting to kill as a deer or turkey but hunting with a good group of guys makes up for it.
I really like this pedestal. It does a good job of showing off the size difference between the antelopes you can take over there. I don’t know about your wife but I’ll be looking forward to seeing the eland and Cape buffalo next to it.
I went the first week of May last year and several species were rutting at the time. When I go back in a couple of years it’ll be beginning of June more than likely, did you notice if anything was still rutting or was it over?
I agree with Ontario Hunter, find a way to go sooner than later. Find an appropriate gun that you’re comfortable with and practice off of sticks. If you want to learn how to hunt, Africa is about the best place there is. You will be learning from a professional and will get more experience than...
Congrats on a great hunt, I enjoyed your report. I also loved hunting the eastern cape last year and can’t wait to get back. Kudu and bushbuck will probably always be on my list of animals I want to take. Kudu are majestic and bushbuck seem to really make you work for it. What were the dates...
Congratulations on your retirement, looks like you’re going to really enjoy it. Can’t wait to read about those trips and hear about the buffalo hunt with Wik.
My crate of finished taxidermy is sitting in Chicago right now with agriculture holding it up. It’s been there since Monday and still no word on it. I’ll be posting a thread detailing costs and the experience once I receive it.
Listening to podcast like these is what made me realize that Africa was within my budget if I worked hard enough for it. A podcast is actually how I found out about this site which helped me immensely.
The 3 you listed are all good ones. Others that have some African content are Lone Star...
With my first safari I am bringing everything home. I did euro mounts on everything and even that way it was still a third of the cost of the entire safari.
To me it was worth it this first trip to actually have some mounts done so that I can see them and have them bring back the memories and...
There maybe a couple species like a jackal or baboon that I would shoot off the truck but to me your memories are going to be made on the stalk for the animal. There isn’t really any story to tell if you’re just shooting the animal off the truck. For me, my favorite trophies are the animals I...
Plan to add the kudu. Once you see one you’ll want it for sure. It took all my willpower to not take a second one and really blow past my budget more than i already had.
I went the first week of May to the eastern cape of South Africa last year. I hit the beginning of the rut for kudu, warthog and impala. It was a lot of fun watching these animals in rut and we saw a ton of kudu bulls. Temperature was 45 in the mornings and 75 in the afternoons. No rain while I...
My ph was Don and he was a great guy and an excellent ph. You’d be in great hands with Wik or Collin as well. Everyone was very friendly and they go above and beyond making sure you are enjoying your trip.
If you have any questions about the place I’ll be happy to answer any of them in a pm or...
I went with these guys on my first safari this May. I had a wonderful time and everything was above my expectations. I did a hunt report on it if you’re interested. Do you know who will be your ph when you go?
Glad to hear you’re feeling better. Good luck on your hunt, I’m looking forward to a hunt report. I’m hoping my kids will want to come with me when they get older.
I would stay the night in Johannesburg. Traveling at night in South Africa isn’t the best idea. Also by the time you get your bags and through customs the only thing you’re going to want to do is get a hot shower, a good meal and sleep off the jet lag.
I’ve been taping drywall since high school and will continue until my body can’t do it anymore. The biggest perk of this job is being able to put in ear buds and listen to hunting podcasts all day long.
Welcome to the forum. Would love to hear about that sable hunt and any other animals that you were able to take. I need stories to tide me over until I can get back.
That place is as close as it gets to heaven on earth. Keep the awesome pics coming Wik, it gives me something to look forward to until I can get back there.
I bought a pair of the stable sticks after using some in South Africa. Well worth the money and I liked them a lot better than the tripod I had been practicing on before going over.
