$25,000 in Africa excluding, flights, tips, and trophy shipment what would you do?

And sand grouse and maybe some dove. I too could just hunt birds for two months. I LOVE hunting upland birds. They'd probably run out of shotgun shells though. LOL

If you are thinking of Mozambique, I would strongly recommend Tsala Safari's own area in Mozambique bordering Gonarezhou National Park of Zim in southern Moz.

Buffalo and Eland tracking on foot , Croc and Hippo on the Save River , maybe a Sable , excellent big Kudu and Nyala and maybe one or two of the tiny ten that you don't find in many other places like Suni or Sharps Grysbok.

Out of those mentioned above you can built proper hunt to fit into the budget you mentioned in a truly wild area in Africa.

My goal with the money would be to go for a longer stretch of time, and stick to plains game to get much more days of hunting and go after more animals. It would probably be smarter in a way to use it towards leopard, buffalo, or offset a LDE, or something like that. However, if someone just gives me a big voucher like that, I feel like I would want to get the most out of it. So rather than go after one animal, I would prefer to spend 2-3 weeks going after a large variety of species and in different habitats.

I checked your trophy list on your profile, to get idea of your experience, and possible wish list.
You have been to Namibia and hunted: Baboon, Gemsbok, Red Hartebeest, Greater Kudu, Mountain Zebra, Springbok, Blesbok, Hyrax,
You already have something from spiral horns (kudu), and general plains game. Missing DG. No aquatics.

Having all that in mind, and looking for maximum experience I would go to South Africa and look for:
- Buffalo cow
- Nyala
- Eland
- Bushbuck
(by that you will have DG experience, and complete "south african small spiral horn slam")

Then:
- Something from small night predators
(By that you will have night hunt experience)

Then:
- Vervet monkey
(for two piece monkey collection with baboon)

Then:
- Duiker or Steenbok
(to have some of the tiny ten)

Then fulfill the bill with some of plains game: Reedbok? Or consider aquatics: Could also add a croc medium size (one of the DG7 and one of the to aquatics)

If managing like this, you will have at home a piece of each African segment to talk about, various habitat experience, and two countries travel experience. Is it doable with one outfitter I really dont know.

Caprivi buffalo and eland. That should use most of the $25k. Then just take whatever the bush gives me the rest of the at least 14 day trip. Why the Caprivi? Because I’ve wanted to hunt there since reading about it in outdoor life as a little kid.

For an exportable trophy it is, but I think you’d be hard pressed to find a better value in Africa than an own-use non-exportable buffalo from Caprivi, especially an area like bwabwata under $10k all in for the oldest bull you can find.

I’ve done and still do both. I like doing multi-area hunts, but if you go on a true tracking hunt you end up seeing a lot of land on foot and get what I think is an equal experience. On a PG hunt you see things on a big scale. On a tracking hunt in wild area you see a lot more of the smaller things you wouldn’t notice otherwise.

Oh I’m aware. This was just a fun game. My next real trip is probably going to be a trip to the eastern cape for eland and bush buck mostly.

1) Mozambique Zambezi River delta, Buffalo, the tiny ten, look for a 30” nyala, and take a daytime bushpig
2) Uganda, sitatunga, any tiny ten Nile bushbuck and Ugandan kob.
3) Zambia, shoot everything @spike.t has on license and find a place for oribi and sharpes grysbok.

Put all three in a hat shake it up and pull out a number.
If you would double it; bongo, Forrest sitatunga and tiny ten in west Africa!

I would take my wife and do the Rovos Rail bird hunting tour. Still get to see the countryside, lots of shooting, cool new trophies and living in luxury. Simple pleasure done at a high level

And negotiate the price until you get the buffalo at 40% discount ie. Six buffalo bulls at $ 4000 each, all included.
( Tell 'em I said so, dammit! ) Make sure that you go with a first class outfitter in an area where the buffalo are not over hunted. Take a proper big bore, 416 or bigger. No "hit and run" 375. Enjoy every minute! Brian
