Looking for what others have found for an accurate load with this bullet. Currently testing with IMR 4064. Open to opinions.

I prefer temperature stable H4895 when its available and H4350. Both render accurate loads in my .375 H&H rifles shooting 275 gr CEB Safari Raptors. While I have never loaded solids for my 375's, in .458 Win and Lott CEB Raptors and Solids shoot the same as long as I reduce the lighter Raptor loads by 1 grain of powder.

I loaded the 300 Grain CEB Safari Solid with 71 grains of RL15 for 2530 FPS. A couple things I have found; First, these bullets don't develop as much pressure as most traditional construction bullets, so I had to use 3 grains more RL15 to get the same velocity as 68 grains with 300 grain A-Frame. Second, be sure to crimp between driving bands (most likely 1st and second). If you crimp in front of first driving band you will most likely suffer from recoil setback of bullet in magazine box. The neck tension is not enough to hold these bullets in place, as they only contact the case on the driving bands.

I just ordered some 275 grain Raptors to go along with the solids. Lots of testing to do. Oh darn! ;) Likely going to try for a hippo so need to be carrying the hammer of Thor.

Ive used Varget, reloader 15 and reloader 15.5, in similar weight charges with similar ballistic results.

New old stock WW brass
RL-17
FED-215
Firm pinch in groove with Lee Factory Crimp die

If you want or ever need 2700 fps you can get it safely with RL-17 under the 300gr BBW #13 solids, I use them in my pre-64 Model 70 375 H&H.

Start at 74 grains and work up with a chrono until you and your rifle are happy, I left a handful of those loads with PH, they used them for culling all animals great and small in the off season, he told me a couple years later ""that load simply knocks the F--- outta stuff,"" they had no recovered solids when I asked, plenty good enough for me, their 375 H&H is a big CZ American Safari rifle.

What a great way to kick off our 2025 hunting season in South Africa.

This beautiful Impala ram was taken at just over 300 yards, took a few steps and toppled over.

We are looking forward to the next week and a half of hunting with our first client of the year.

Do you have any more copies of African Dangerous Game Cartridges, Author: Pierre van der Walt ? I'm looking for one. Thanks for any information, John [redacted]
