Here it’s Grizzly and Black Bear Defense. Over the years I have progressed from 44 Mag to 10mm to 45 Super +P as my sidearm while fishing and camping. I was covered up with Grizzly Sows and Cubs last moose season I packed up camp and left only after 2 days of hunting moose.I believe that will get it done Sir, I have loaded that bullet for over 5 years to 1050 fps in 45 ACP +P with Longshot, 1300 fps with 800X powder in all steel 5 inch 1911 45 Super.
Woods carry around here for black bear, mountain lion, wild hogs and the enamel lacking, smooth mouthed mountain cookers while archery hunting whitetails, hope I never need them!
I wish the made a Lehigh Pent in 200gr for the 10mm.AK338, You bet, I like heavy hardcast as well, it definitely has it's place in the game fields, a buddy and I had a barrier test shoot one day, he shot 250gr flat nosed hardcast in his 45 Super, I shot the 200gr Lehigh penetrators in my 45 Super, old car doors, windshields, stumps, cattle leg, femur and pelvic bones, appliances, propane bottles and tanks.
Many times the Penetrators made it through and the hardcasts did not, I believe the hardcasts didn't simply because they're not as hard as a monometal solid, maybe not needed in a hunting situation, but, with so many guns, I like one load for every weapon I have.
Overcoming barriers is part of what I'd ask my 45 Super to do, keeps it much simpler, at the conclusion of that days shooting, he asked where to buy the penetrators then asked for my load data ; ]
I shoot the Lehigh penetrators in 38 Super, 357 Sig and 10mm.
I also agree on 800X, very glad I grabbed several pounds of it when I first started loading 45 Super.
The Sierra 190gr FPJ I have dispatched several moose over years with that bullet using 14.0 of AA9 and CCI 350.Hello AK338,
All is not lost for your 10mm, or mine, go to Lehigh bullets website, they have in stock and ready to ship, .400" 185gr Extreme penetrators and 190gr monolithic flat nosed solids, those two bring the 10mm up a couple classes in punching power and penetration.
