A fun article about Bob's 2nd favorite caliber

Au contraire Bob, I'm slim fit and perfectly able to take on those dangerous rabbits without a puny rifle. Guns are for sissies.

Who was your taxidermist?
Yeah I know the feeling. I've killed more wild porkers with a knife than a bullet and these days the sight of a pork chop scares the snot outa me.

What kills me about the 6.5 Creedmoor is its name.who came up with that.my 45-120 starts fuming everything I mention it.creedmoor is where men shot shoulder mounted cannons at a 1000yrd target.they quit that around 1912.its not military so no 6.5 camp perry its not Wimbledon worthy either. Call it 6.5 Ruger or 6.5 ar10.but Creedmoor? Thats like ford calling their new electric mustang the Goodwood.

Maybe your .45-120 is still mad about not being included in those famous tests? Hehe.

Call it the 6.5 Swingline. It's really good at punching holes in paper. All those jack wagons who loooove it would never put two and four and three together. Haha!

That's hilarious. Do you think @Bob Nelson 35Whelen will notice it?

I think it was named that because it was designed as a long range target ctg. Creedmoor was a famous range.
The Creedmoor just gravitated to a hunting ctg. Some, myself included, bought it because it was avaiable in a rifle I wanted & the Swede was not. Will it do anything the Swede won't do? Not in the game fields, will it on the target range? Maybe not. It is, like the Swede, a fine, mild mannered, hunting ctg.

New here , so sorry if I don't understand many of the inside jokes . But what's wrong with a .243 Winchester ? I use(d) one almost exclusively to down my African tiny ten ( other times , I used solids in a .375 Holland & Holland Magnum ) . The 100 Gr Winchester Super X Power Point works really well on the little guys ( like Sunni / Duiker ) .

Our dear friend Bob just hates the cartridge. He likes 25 and 35 calibers.

Other than that, it's a very worthy cartridge. Bob will disown me for saying that.

Don't start me on that horrible little cartridge. It's to big for small game and not big enough for medium game. Most people load the wrong projectiles for the game hunted.
It doesn't live up to its velocity hype even with handloads. The only reason it got to where it is is because Winchester advertised the crap out of it saying how good it is..
Problem is it doesn't live up to the hype

I'm sorry you feel that way , Bob . To each his own , I guess . I really like it for Duiker , Sunni and the other small African antelopes . I use the 100 Gr Winchester Super X Power Point , extensively .

It's .014 smaller than your glorious .257...your .358 is .017 smaller than the glorious and mighty .375!

That's a wrap, on our first hunt of this years season.

Hunting conditions are a bit tougher in South Africa during the month of February, but can be just as rewarding if done right.
