A New Offering Of .375 Holland & Holland Magnum Ammunition Has Been Released On The Market

Are you seeing high pressures. I like Hornady as their ammo seems consistent, brass seems good and it is usually faster, without pressure signs, than other ammo dure to their powder blend. So, I like their fast ammo.
I don't need high velocity to make 400 gr bullets work. And my fragile retinas don't need the extra recoil.

The last time I tested .375 H&H factory ammo it was Federal's Premium Safari 300 grain A-Frame.
Federal promised on the box a MV of 2,450 fps. From my 24" barrel 10 rounds produced an actual MV of 2,447 fps. Not too shabby. The SD & ES numbers were horrid, but out to ~150 yards, it doesn't matter that much on big vitals.

If I ever come across a box of that S&B SP I'll buy a box and give 'em a whirl.

The .22 Mag blew up in my 455 with factory barrel. The primer ruptured, the blast set off another one or two rounds in the magazine, blowing up the magazine in my hand as I was holding the rifle right there. Magazine destroyed, luckily hand was OK. Bad headspace? Who knows, did not measure but other ammo worked flawlessly.
Rimfire!?
Wow!
I am glad it ended well, for your hand!

Yes rimfire. Still have one or two cases somewhere. I then fired more of the same ammo but single-fed, with no magazine and no hand below the magazine shaft. :ROFLMAO: Few more blew up.

So it seems most here are judging S&B's offering of a new, economical, available, and welcome addition to the world of medium bore rifle ammunition by it's "failure" to address a niche need for a bullet suitable for hunting thick skinned dangerous game. So what! I say good on them. And wish them all success. There is no pleasing some people!

A few years ago, I started purchasing virtually everything from .22-250 through .470NE from Choice Ammo. Greats selection of bullets and very accurate. A bit pricey but the least expensive part of any hunt. No need to try something new when this ammo works so well.

I find the s&b ammo soft points in bigger calibers good for deer. The soft bullets expand and kill quickly. I think this ammo would be great for practice and soft skinned game.

I saw you were looking for some Swift A-Frames for your 9.3. I just bought a bulk supply of them in the 285g. version. If Toby's are gone, I could let 100 go for $200 shipped you are interested.
Thanks,
Gary

Booked with Harold Grinde - Gana River - they sure kill some good ones - who'd you get set up with?
