A woman hunter on safari in Kenya Africa 1930s - 16mm silent home movie big game hunt

Cannot be a Mauser/Rigby, because of the forwards position of the bolt handle.

Also the position and style of the front sling swivel, mounted on the stock, is an indication.

I think, it is a Mannlicher-Schoenauer Model 1924 in 10,75x68,....

In 1930 the only M-S caliber legal in Kenya.......to take lion and elephant.

The sling swivel position, being apparently screwed into the bottom of the stock rather than a 'stirrup' coming down from the barrel attachment point, made me wonder for a bit if it's a takedown model. It looks like a single trigger but I can't make out a TD lever on the trigger guard at this resolution and a TD pin would seem likely to have caught some light as she moved the rifle about.

The described "blood bath" looks like an extremely successful hunt to me! Thanks for sharing!

Ya....the description, written by Periscope Films for stock footage has many inaccuracies....But the rifle with it's relatively long bbl looks like the non-take down 10.75X68....often called the .423 Mauser. Wiki says the Land Rover Touring car not offered until 1948, and the "blood bath" phrase shows Hollywood's biased BS. But there is something to see here, and I enjoyed it very much. I tried to find this Lady's name without success, but the Major comes thru again.......thanks...............FWB

The movie is really worth watching again.
Does anyone know the second hunter with JA Hunter gets into a fight right at the beginning.
The scenes 0:30 and 1:02 are not very comradely and that was certainly not a guest.
3:46 in the cheetah scene he appears again and would be well recognizable.
