Robb 44, Go to http://biggame.org/convention/ then click on attendee room reservations, and it will bring up the official hotel sites. A couple are very close, (walking distance), all on the list have free bus service to the convention and return during certain hours. Good luck, hope you make it!

The HartzView group stays here:

It's an older Holiday Inn, but it's clean, comfortable and reasonably priced. They have a breakfast buffet in the morning. It's also on the convention bus route. If you fly into Love Field, the hotel has a shuttle that will come get you at the airport. And later in the evenings there's usually copious amounts of hunting b.s. being passed around in the bar. The hotel staff also seem to really appreciate the convention and the business they get from it.

Thanks Guys,,I'm checking airfares

It wouldn't be a party without you Bob! Looking forward to seeing Deb there this year too.

Texas in January sure Beats Minnesota

Robb44,
January's the, Roar of the Lion in South Dakota, compared to Minnesota's Purrr of the Kitty. LOL!! I know you get the aftermath of what comes through SD.

I'm in. Payment sent.

Can anyone tell me how much it is to get in the show and if you must get a membership to get in.Trying to see if me and the kid can go.The airfare seems not to bad as of right now but not sure how much all the extra stuff will run me.

You don't need a membership. Prices vary depending on how many days you attend, but it seems like the most you'll pay is $50. I'd check that on the DSC website though. Suffice to say, it is a much less expensive show to attend than SCI.

EDIT: Wow, my memory has not fully gone. $50 for all 4 days and going down from there per the link Jerome provided.

Last year they also had a deal where if you signed up while there you got four day passes I think? That's what I did. It was for a good cause and didn't cost much more.

Oops.... Jerome already posted the link, but same deal as last year.

Passing this year...

Looks like we will be taking in the Portland show in February.

I cannot wait for this.

I am going to put duct tape across my mouth and just listen! What a great chance to rub shoulders with what amounts to centuries of African hunting experience!

Hey Phil, the new place gonna allow a couple jars of Tennessee's Finest???

Phil and Jerome,

I know DSC is a great place to have the dinner.... BUT, have you ever considered having one at the SCI Convention in Reno, Nv ..??

I think that's a great idea, though I would have it in Las Vegas now that SCI has moved there. But planning one of these was enough for me and I think I'll let someone else pick up any SCI function.

That's a wrap, on our first hunt of this years season.

Hunting conditions are a bit tougher in South Africa during the month of February, but can be just as rewarding if done right.
