Monday after SCI always sucks! Got back last evening and crashed early. Then it was time to go back to the real world.....blech.

I noticed this thread had no pictures. That is almost certainly due to the fact that our beloved AH cameraman and one of my favorite Canadians, @BRICKBURN, was not present this year for the festivities. You were missed Wayne, I do hope you'll make it to Reno or even perhaps Dallas. Having said that, I thought maybe it would be nice to instead of sharing pics that Wayne is behind the camera to share a pic of one where Wayne was in front of the camera.

Damn thing is that I had a heckuva time finding one. But after a little searching around I found one of him and a couple of his friends from a few years back. For those that may not know Wayne, he is the one in the middle.

I didn't get to the after party, but did makes it to the show with my wife. We had tickets for Cirque de Sole and it went a little longer than expected. Plus the drinks put us behind, too.

Firstly, Thank you to all who joined us at the AH Get Together this year. It's always nice to see familiar faces and meet others for the first time. I am always impressed with the great group of people we have on this site! We had a good turn out but not as many people as we've had in the past at Eye Candy, maybe 50 people came in and out throughout the night.

I know some of you mentioned that the hotel was locationally undesirable... This year the show was a bit strange as the "main" hotel was 5 miles from the convention center and it seemed that everyone was spread out among many hotels, airbnb's and time shares in Vegas. That certainly impacted the nightlife aspect of the whole show. I felt like everyone was asking everyone else where they were going to be each night. Still a great time was had by all and more than a few drinks! And in @spike.t case enough drinks for himself and a few friends (yes, you were there)!

Alas, I'm sorry to report that I took no pictures... I forgot after a couple of Scotch. Thank you @john kofoed for posting a couple of pictures from the start of the evening. It was great getting to chat with some of our European AH members, thank you for coming from so far. Perhaps Mrs. @30winmag would be willing to share some of the photos that she took at the Get Together???

As @PHOENIX PHIL mentioned @BRICKBURN your presence was notably missed by all, in hindsight we should have Facetimed you at the Get Together. Sorry I didn't think of it earlier...

The show overall seemed to have good foot traffic and from all accounts many hunters are booking hunts, so I think the next couple of years will be busy for hunters and outfitters alike. I have to say that the show moving around this year really affected the camaraderie and sense of connection aspect, which I hope will get better when we return to Reno next year. In light of this I will say that myself and many that I have spoken to will be staying at the Silver Legacy (http://www.silverlegacyreno.com) next year and that will be where we will be holding our AH Get Together. So anyone who wants to plan early and be in the action can do so. Anyway, the main hangout/watering hole for PH's and hunters alike in Reno is always at Rum Bullions in the same hotel.

The Safari Club International convention will return to Reno in 2019 at the Sparks Convention Center from January 9 to 12, 2019.

The Dallad Safari Club convention will be in Dallas at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center from January 17 to 20, 2019.

The Dallas Safari Club convention will be in Dallas at the Kay Bailey Hutchinson Convention Center from January 17 to 20, 2019.

So what happened in Vegas, stays in Vegas and no photos to prove or dis-prove otherwise.........

The dates for SCI and DSC are closer together next year. For the vendors, less rest between shows but also less cost of down days between shows. Thought I'd put a plug in for the Houston show too.

The Houston Safari Club convention will be in Houston at the George R Brown Convention Center from January 25 to 27, 2019.
