Alternatives to wired transfers of money

Dalton and York had three or four methods of payment. The easiest. And the one I used. was to write a personal check. Send him a picture on WhatsApp and they instantly cashed it.
I would think that means they have a US bank account?

This sounds quite logical, everyone should listen. How to convince an American bank?

For the last 2-3 decades I have been able to login to the banks self-service system over the net and make a SWIFT, SEPA etc. transfer to a bank account in another country, in a minute or two.

This is pretty standard across the world these days. The US being the one glaring exception.

If you want to not burden the recipient unduly, then your best line of approach would be to do whatever it takes to persuade a US bank to do the transfer, so the recipient receives the money through the channels that are normal for them.

PayPal and Wise are truly excellent options for international transfers. They both provide more convenient and affordable services than many traditional banks. I have used both of these services myself and was pleased with the results. This was when I started to become interested in playfina promo code, I found https://casinosanalyzer.com/casino-bonuses/playfina.cominformation about it. But I like Wise better, maybe it's because I've been using it longer. but it's really convenient. I connected it wherever payment or receipt of money is required.
Regional banks often use a larger, intermediary bank with a SWIFT ID to facilitate international transactions.

Just sent a 2nd check to Dalton today. Took a picture, sent it via What’s App. Gave him a head’s up and he says perfect. Easy peasy

I will just take a check next month to wrap up my safari costs when we complete the tab. He can deposit it while we are still in camp

I used Xoom the PayPal wire transfer service for payment for my hunt in Argentina. It worked well….And I was able to do it from home on my laptop…

A question, does PayPal charge the consumer a credit card fee? An outfitter will accept it, but I'm not familiar with their policies and hate to send a big hunt cost payment if I'll get hit with a 2-3% credit card usage fee from PayPal..

I am not sure…. I electronically transferred money into my PayPal account balance so I didn’t use my credit card. And I don’t remember exactly how much the Xoom transfer fee was either, but it was not as much as the banks charge…

On my phone I can do global money transfer from my account directly to my outfitter or PH's bank accounts in South Africa but funds can ONLY be received in domestic currency i.e. rand. So I convert US funds safari deposit to Canadian funds, do a screenshot, then my bank app automatically converts from Canadian dollars to rand when I make the transfer to RSA. By email I send them copy of transfer invoice and screenshot of exchange rate. Bank charges me NOTHING for global money transfer. I have had nothing but headaches trying to get the US dollars deposit wired. Gals at the bank just can't figure it out. Fee was $45 Canadian. I bank with CIBC.

One of our kids attended university in other country and we would send money to her via Wise.
https://wise.com/us/. We also would send money to her US bank account from our US bank account by doing a transfer. If your bank is a pain to deal with, you might have good luck asking your brokerage firms for help wiring money. Sometimes brokers are easier to deal with than smaller banks. And, if you do have to use a bank, I would raise some hell about the fee. I don't pay banking fees for wires, and I imagine most of the community here keeps enough scratch at the bank to be able to get the wire for free.

I don't mean to hijack the OPs thread but they did ask about other than wire transfers.

Maybe Nothing, Maybe Something, I don't know.

For all of you that do full service banking and transfer money to the various accounts like PayPal F&F, Zelle, Whatsapp, etc, etc..

Do any of you feel you are putting to much personal information in the clouds; that is are you not squeamish about your personal and financial information being hack into, or ID theft?

Or am I just too security conscious?

I limit the number of apps and what apps I install on my phones (plural) and which app is installed on which phone or both phones. My banks (plural) accounts are limited to what account is linked to other account(s) and I have an unlinked account dedicated for wire transfers and sort of slush/mad money for a safari/hunt or for whatever else I feel I think I need, but really just want because there is sufficient money in the account to pay for it.

Why would you do that when you can just make a cross border transfer from CIBC/CIBC USA, and have CIBC USA make the transfer is Dollars or Rands.

Yes its always a concern for sure....
One way to limit your exposure is to preform all your electronic transactions (money transfers to PayPal, Zelle, ect) from a dedicated transfer account that only holds enough money for the transfer. It's essentially a pass through account....
This requires you to set up another account with your bank so that you are not providing the payment service your main bank account #s (checking, savings ect). Its an extra step in the process but gives you an extra measure of security...
Companies that provide electronic payroll to their employees do it all the time, so that the account that payroll is coming from is not the same account that they keep their operating funds in...
