Any Experience With Federal Fusion Ammunition For Plains Game?

My only africa trip (so far) I used federal premium accubonds in 7mm rem mag. My father used fusion in his 30/06. He did get a nice 54" kudu and some smaller animals, but he lost a blue wildebeest. Tracked it a long ways. I would not use them in Africa
