I bought one today after seeing them for years and bitching about the price. During all those years bitching I went through a lot of cheaper hats that I hated almost right after I bought them. Today I finally decided to "do it". I bought the Airflo (think wide brim cloth hat with about an inch of mesh just below the top).

So far I'm really loving it. Ive tried other mesh top hats; but those have all been full mesh and just never "looked" right to me. I always felt like it was something an "old" guy would wear; maybe because Ive seen too many guys my age wearing them. This seems more "cool guy" since its only a small strip of mesh....

The insured for loss and guaranteed for life, part didn't hurt...

Have one of their cotton boonie style hats - think Vietnam era. Great hat for the bush. Dark grommets rather than the usual bright brass and plenty of soft beaten into it.

Did someone say Tilley?? 20+ years and counting...

Correction! That hat is more like 30 years old! Yikes, it ages way better than I do...

My wife bought me one this year. Not cheap, but I like it. May go toAfrica with me later this year. Love the nice wide brim. Skin cancer makes want to keep the sun off a bit more....... Bruce

My daughter and I both took our Airflows with us this month to SA. I have to admit that I wore my regular cap on the first day because of the "old guy" look concern but wore it every day after that, as did my daughter. It worked very well for me and I'm sold. I will definitely take it with me next year.

Looks like what US soldiers wore in the Vietnam era.

They're kinda the standard hat for "mature" Canadian travellers. I have two of them. None better.

I really wish you hadn't posted this...

the damn bargain cave takes my money every time I go in there.. whether I need something or not..

I was in there last week and saw a Zeiss Terra 3-9x42 for $217.. I have (had) no need for another optic.. and had never really considered the Terra before..

but couldn't resist.. and ended up walking out of there with another scope...

Now I've got to go look and see what hats they have in there....

sigh....

:)
