just a word of warning if you ever come across hunting.by in Belarus avoid them like the plague. Very poor hunting company who are refusing to send my moose trophy and will not even respond to calls or messages now. I can’t even hold the agent accountable as they are no longer in business. I’ve pretty much given up now but don’t want anybody Else experiencing what I am.

When did all this happen?
Details of your hunt.....

I'm amazed that there are moose in Belarus.

I'm amazed that there are moose in Belarus.

Why? They’re present in Russia, parts of Scandinavia and central Europe. I believe historically western population boundary was Vistula river. Today there are small pockets of Moose populations west of Vistula but majority is to the east of the river. My hunting area’s border is actually the east bank of Vistula and we see Moose regularly, however in Poland they are temporarily under protection so looki looki but no touchie ;-)

Moose live all over the northern hemisphere.
The Eastern European and bordering moose should be in the class of the American Shiras moose.
From time to time there, is also a strong moose where you might think it comes from BC.
Many European hunters are in the Baltic States, Russia and neighbouring countries because of the moose.

Eastern Europe moose.

I strongly recommend anyone wanting to hunt in strange places like this use a top notch booking agency like the Hunting Consortium. It costs little more to use a booking agency and that little % is nothing compared to losing a hard earned trophy.

And remember, they are only called moose in North America. In the rest of the world it is normally a form of the word “elk”. Yeah, the colonists got it wrong when they first saw a wapiti.

Somehow got called wapiti again once they made it down to NZ

Because you lads were smart enough to not want to accidentally import a “moose.” (y)

I wonder if this outfitter will just open under another name. Like previously posted, go with a reputable and proven organization.

It is why it is so important to use a hunting consultant with a proven track record when headed into a totally new environment. I strongly second @Philip Glass in recommending Bob Kern's The Hunting Consortium for anywhere off the beaten path. http://huntingconsortium.com/about-us/

I did use an agency and it cost extra. The agency has since gone belly up and won’t respond to me.

I did buddy it cost me a fortune hence the reason I’m so angry. The agency has since closed down and is refusing to reply to me let alone help.

Hello everyone.
My name is Aleks and I'm from that company Kristoffer was hunting with for a moose.
I am so sorry for so long proces of a taxidermist and our government bureaucracy. I bring my sincere apologies. The trophy is done as I wrote to Kristoffer about 2 month ago and all documents are also done. We have contacted all the time we the hunter and we can provide all the messages we have. But there is a problem with payment for taxidermist services, we can't send the trophy untill it will be paid in full by the hunter. So we are waiting untill the UK bank mangers can make an internationl transfer for money Kristoffer should pay. I know that there is a problem but i dont know how to solve it.
Will be glad to answer all the qustions you have with no misinformation.
And dear hunters, dont miss the opportunity to visit or hunt in Belarus - this is a very beautiful country with kind people and realy good services. This situation can not be a mirror of the country.
With best wishes, Aleks

It maybe useful to post those messages- obviously blank out any extremely personal information, if there is any, but if they show that you guys where in regular communication with him and the issues was truly beyond your control- government bureaucracy, taxidermist's timeline, bank issues etc... that definitely brings greater credibility to your side of the story IMO...

Perhaps its not my business or place, but if an international transfer via a bank is such a problem why not use something like western union? There are a lot of options available now a days to make international payments.

Welcome to the forum.
It would be great this problem to be solved in a gentlemanly and transparent way!

2,822fps, ES 8.2
This compares favorably to 7 Rem Mag. with less powder & recoil.

I know that this thread is more than a year old but as a new member I thought I would pass along my .280AI loading.
I am shooting F Open long range rather than hunting but here is what is working for me and I have managed a 198.14 at 800 meters.
That is for 20 shots. The 14 are X's which is a 5" circle.
