We are traveling to Port Elizabeth the first of July. I am finding it cheaper to book roundtrip tickets to Johannesburg, then separate tickets on Airlink. I'm sure some of y'all have done this. Should I book them myself, or should I use a travel agent? None of us are taking firearms, so it makes it much easier.

Easy enough to book yourself. If two separate are cheaper, that’s the route I would go. But if you need an agent call Nicole at Gracy.

Book them yourself if there’s a decent saving. Especially if you are not bringing firearms. I have always booked my flights on the airlines website.

It’s easy to do both, book separate flights, or use a travel agent if you want to see the difference. Even if you had rifles, it’s good to compare and have an awareness of the process.

Get the Emirates App, United App, and Delta App. There are other Apps that monitor flights and rates. Set filters and alerts and see what happens. Get a quote from travel agents. I’ve used a couple of the popular ones that are on AH over the last 20 years. No problem.

Plenty of people book their own flights with or without rifles. More than anything, it’s good to be informed.

To each their own…

Travel agent! I’m going late July 25 and round trip to joburg and back then airlink to and from PE with two rifles. I think I was the first person to book a seat! Gracy will have a guy meet you at the gate and shuttle you around to where you need to be and can provide gun assistance if you need it. If it’s your first trip it will make this experience seamless and as fast as possible.

I BOOK THEM MYSELF.

My 1st attempt on a safari, I used a travel agent. Do to an understandable mistake on the agent’s part we missed our flight. The airline would’ve rebooked us but we bought through the agent so we were at the agent’s mercy. The agent left us high and dry.

I doubt that either of the recommended agents on the forum here would leave you high and dry sitting in a airport.

I wouldn't hesitate to use Jennifer at Travel Express for any and all foreign travel arrangements.

Booking your own flights works right up to the point when one gets cancelled your mind is on your hunt now you have to handle it yourself….good luck with that…All of us are on a budget which I so appreciate and have my spread sheets to prove it but “ penny wise pound foolish “ comes to mind…just me
