Good day AH Community,

We are in the privileged position where we are able to offer our clients a Brown Hyena hunt in South Africa once again for 2025. We only conduct limited hunts each year so as to ensure we have the highest chance at success for a client that wants to attempt this difficult hunt. We were able to fill our tag in 2021 however unfortunately the Hyena was wounded and not recovered. Our 2022 and 2023 hunt's went off with little difficulty and we had two very happy client's each bag a huge hyena! In 2024 we unfortunately did not sell this hunt making your chances of success in 2025 even higher!! We will definitely have some very uneducated Hyena's walking around out there!

Brown Hyena hunting is something we are very passionate about and we believe we have some of the better areas for them. This is due to almost zero hunting pressure on them. We have never struggled to get them on bait when doing "Bluff" baits to determine effectiveness and numbers of Hyena. Half the fun is making sure the bait site is topped up, but we will of course do a good amount of baiting prior to your arrival. Most times we will strive to have a "Hyena Restaurant" running long before your arrival. This is essentially a dumping site for any unusable bits during the safari season. It is a hard hunt due to the long hours in the blind and their somewhat erratic schedules but success is afforded to those who persevere! The hunt will take place in the Limpopo province at our Limpopo North home base.

Typically thermal scopes are used for this hunt negating the need for conventional lights etc.

The hyena hunt is running at similar pricing to 2024.

The Brown Hyena we hunted at the end of the 2023 season. We got this old hyena on only the second sit. This wily hyena had actually escaped a snare and it can be seen around its neck in this picture along with the scar it carried. Resilient animals!
