I don't know if this will get moved or not as it's not directly hunting related.

What is everyone's EDC setup these days?

I recently got my CCW in NJ which is very new thing for us.

Gun: Sig P365X (stock)
Holster: Tier 1 Xiphos Elite w/ 2 Ulticlip 3's.
Position: AIWB

I recently switched to the 2-clip Tier 1 from a 1-clip Vedder Lighttuck.

I've carrying since FL passed the CCW law, and I've been carrying in GA since I got here in 2013. This is my set up. Sometimes I'll switch handguns, but 80% of the time, it's a Glock 19.

Gun: Glock 19.
Ammo: Federal Hydrashock 124 grs bullets.
Holster: Outside the waist Cobra holster.
Position: I carry at the 4 O'clock position.
Extra ammo: two extra mags at the 9 O'clock position.

Here is a concealed carry thread from several years ago

Holster Gun (El Paso Saddlery), Walther PPK .380, Indoor Ammo - Glaser Safety Slugs, Outdoor Ammo Cor Bon hollow point

Pocket Gun, Ruger LCP .380, Ammo - Cor Bon hollow point

Plenty of good options available… one thing that I recommend is practice. Not really standing in an inside range shooting at a stationary target but an IDPA/ USPSA match which requires movement and reloading. Plenty of clubs in NJ and tri state area.

VP9 with 1 spare mag.

In warm weather, I carry it in a VNSH holster because I'm either wearing a t-shirt, Guaybera, or Hawaiian shirt and usually shorts. 9 o'clock carry for this one

In cooler weather, I have a leather OWB made by JT Leather Custom Leatherworks, 8 o'clock carry, spare mag in a kydex mag holster at 4 o'clock.

I like variety, and if you like building up a collection of guns its nice to have a small lightweight gun that is very convenient for pocket carry for low threat situations, and larger higher capacity guns for IWB/OWB or shoulder holster carry for higher threat scenarios, or whenever you just feel like it.

Since my current lifestyle and neighborhood are pretty calm, I now usually just carry a very lightweight Ruger LCR 5 shot snubby in a soft DeSantis pocket holster, though I also have an ankle holster for it, and occasionally carry it as a backup gun.

I have large hands, and I can get a higher grip on a small revolver than a small semi because the semi has the slide that flies back and the revolver doesn't. I am willing to carry only 5 shots in a small revolver I can shoot well as opposed to more shots in a rinky dinky pocket semi that I can't get a good grip on.

For jogging and hiking, I really like sticking my Glock 17 in a Hill People Runner's kit, it's a chest pack that is actually quite comfortable to excerice in. I've done 10+ miles hikes in it without a problem.

I got the optional kydex trigger guard insert for it so I feel very secure with a live round in the chamber despite the lack of an external safety. Its has some smaller front pockets I can put ID/credit cards, house key, and phone into, so I can keep my pockets empty while exercising which I like.

I do have a variety of hip holsters and sometimes carry IWB or OWB, but I find it gets uncomfortable after awhile, maybe I just haven't hip carried enough to get really used to it.

My favorite way to carry a really heavy sidearm, like my 6" barreled Ruger GP100 .357 is in a Craft Holsters Vertical Roto holster, it keeps the gun barrel pointed down, but it still easy to draw fairy quick, and conceals quite nicely with a baggy jacket or vest.

Pictured below, G17 in the Hill People Runners Kit and Ruger LCR in ankle holster, with pant leg down and then up.

Have varied mine over the years and situation, in the early 80’s I carried a s&w model 19 with a 2/12 bbl, then went to a colt combat commander in a milt sparks holster, then to a ruger sp101 in a simply rugged holster, then to a ruger commander in a milt sparks holster, currently use a Glock 19 in a Kramer holster and a Glock 43 in a vedder holster, I prefer leather holsters for a variety of reasons and Kramer and milt sparks holster are quality built, whatever you do don’t skimp on your holster and especially your belt, I use an old leather ranger belt 1 1/2” width double thickness that I got from work and a nexbelt which is fantastic. Have also used a ruger p85 for a short time and a browning hp, unfortunately I traded the high power away years ago.

Gen 3 Glock 19 (been carrying the same pistol for more than 20 years)

Olight mini pl2 light attached

XS Big Dot tritium sights

IWB kydex holster made by… mdwest :)

124 gr Remington Golden Saber…

Pocket rocket for shorts and t-shirt type days is a Ruger LCP in a pocket holster…

We have a very good range and training center nearby. They are the outfit where I took my qualification. I have some decent skills from my prior PSD background. However, to your point, I could be better. The big thing here in NJ is knowing the ROE. Use of force is almost nonexistent here.

What I'm really having trouble with is finding a good holster. I went with the Vedder as a starting point which I don't regret. The single clip holster, even with a smaller pistol like the 365X, still doesn't keep the rig stable enough in the belt line. I am hoping the Tier 1 Xiphos Elite with the 2 clips will make things more stable.

The Ulticlip in terms of clips is my go-to now. Very secure and easy to take the rig out in one shot.

I actually use the Ulticlip setup and it clips right to the pant's waistline. Eliminates the need for a belt. I typically always wear a belt but my issue is I am often carrying with a tucked in shirt for work. The Ulticlip makes it much less obvious I am carrying because the clips are behind my belt.

Leather scares me a bit. You hear of some stories about trigger catches holstering the firearm.

I choose to stay concealed and not reveal what I may or may not have on me at any particular time.

FAFO. Stay frosty out there.

Hk cc9, inside the waistband appendix carry. iMO a really good carry gun. There is no other pistol in that size range that would be able to pass the testing that model went through to get approved by Germany.

The leather holsters you are thinking about are poorly constructed, with a well constructed holster that isn’t an issue, the biggest concern with striker fired pistols is making sure your cover garment doesn’t get in the trigger when reholstering, one of my milt sparks is iwb the vm2, 1 is owb the axiom, the bravo concealment is iwb, I have a crossbred iwb for my g19 and the Kramer for owb, the simply rugged does both, for g43 I use a kydex vedder, I wear long tail tshirts from Duluth trading and they all conceal well, I find the kydex to be noisier and not as comfortable

Try G&G out of Pittsburgh. Have some for my 365 Tacops and 320's. Very fast shipping and NO universal fits.

S&W Shield 9 in a Smartcarry holster, old man style pleated pants with comfort fit waistband.

Laugh all you want, but being a CCW Instructor I can tell you this is the most comfortable and concealable rig you will ever find.

How secure is the front panel against trigger pull through fabric? I know one of the criticisms of the belly bands is that.

I've come to find that CCW takes of lot of trying different platforms to find one that really works for you.

People love or hate the Ulticlips but so far, that's been the gamechanger for me.

They do offer a model with a kydex trigger guard, but I've never felt the need for this option.

One of my personal peeves against belt clip type holsters is when using a public restroom. I personally had a pistol come out if the person's holster in the stall to my left and come sliding into my booth. I very politely moved it back to it's owner, who apologized profusely.

Using the Smart Carry, you pull the holster system up above your waistline a few inches, do your thing, then slide it back down and finish getting your pants on. You don't have a heavy metal object trying to pull your drawers to the floor.

I have been using a "Personal Property" rider on my State Farm homeowner's policy to cover guns when I travel with them.

I have several firearms, but only one is worth over $20K (A Heym double rifle).

Very interested.

Would firearms be covered for damage, as well as, complete loss?

I'll can let the State Farm rider cover my watches...

trperk1, I bought the Kimber Caprivi 375 back in an earlier post. You attached a target with an impressive three rounds touching 100 yards. I took the 2x10 VX5 off and put a VX6 HD Gen 2 1x6x24 Duplex Firedot on the rifle. It's definitely a shooter curious what loads you used for the group. Loving this rifle so fun to shoot. Africa 2026 Mozambique. Buff and PG. Any info appreciated.
