Hmmm...........maybe I'm just paranoid (because everyone is against me!), but we've had a slow down on the site yesterday, and people were concerned about a cyber attack by the Peta freaks. Now, this add for "cheetah cubs" comes up, offering them as "pets". I can't see one of those animals as a "pet", bottle-fed or not! My grandfather bottle fed a baby raccoon and hand raised it, and that thing was a nasty prick when it got older!
Can't speak to the veracity of the individual, but I am certainly not going to click on any of the links provided........... Caveat Emptor! Licensed breeder.....with a "google" website?

I agree. Unless you own/are in charge of a preserve/zoo this sounds like a bad move.

Call me crazy, but wild--especially exotic--animals should not be owned as pets. While they certainly are cute as babies (thanks for the photos Brickburn) they still grow up to be wild animals and I don't think that many of the people that buy these animals have the training or resources necessary to keep them. You always hear about the crazy PETA hippie who bought a lion or chimp to "save" it and they always seem to get mauled to death. Just my opinion, but wild animals should stay in the wild.

Cheetahs have been "domesticated" for an awfully long time. Both the Pharonic Egyptians and Assyrians used them as sight hunters much as the Afghan hound and Greyhounds were used. I agree with Saul having one in an apartment in LA is pretty bad idea - but one lying out on the patio in the sun on the place down here in Texas .......... I met Jan Oelofse over lunch in Namibia about a year before his death, and his stories about managing the cheetah Sonia in the movie Hatari were wonderful.

Cheetah make good pets and have been kept as such since Biblical times. I would love to have one! As for the other big cats not quite as predictable but plenty of people have them.

In approx. 1985 they had Siberian Tigers for sale in local newspaper for $800 pretty cheap , In Texas then you had to get a USDA permit to keep which had a special requirement size for cage , certain guage wire with concrete floor and a 4' fence all way around so someone could stick their hand in there. So then cage was $2500 or so Dad told me he would buy it and pay for all the food but I had to pay for the cage. Well I was 15 at the time and min wage was $2.35 I believe , hell that was more than I paid for my car so he got me on that one, needless to say I didn't get a Tiger but that would have been bad ass.

Local guy had a lioness when I was in high school. He would impress the chicks with her when she was a cub. Then she got a little bigger and started eating like a lion. She went on a chain in the yard. Graduated to a chain link pen at a trucking yard. Eating 50 lbs of chicken necks a day, so the story goes.
Anyway, the cat got loose, and the owner got his rifle out to look for her, story goes he was afraid of her after she got big. She was lured back without gunfire, and we never heard of her again. Point here? That cat turned dangerous when she matured simple as that , he may have put her down nobody knows, but that cat disappeared. Funny how everybody that knew that guy didn't know about lions, but all agreed " that is a bad idea that lion gonna get big " funny how logic rules the day
