Commercial Mauser 98 Parts - Bolt, Trigger, Metal, Two Stocks

Check Midway. I seem to recall they also sell Gentry safeties.

You may have been looking at Myers 3-position Mauser safeties. They run about $350.
I will have a look there as well.
Thanks again.

For @Velo Dog and others who are considering the three position safety on a Mauser bolt, here is what you are asking your gunsmith or machinist to do for you…

Good video. I managed to get it done using only a Dremel tool. Marking the end of the bolt with a drill bit for location of notch is a better method than what was provided in the instructions.

A word of caution. Not all "98 Mauser's" are the same. Threads on bolt shroud may be different and there can also be variations in cocking pieces. Ask me how I know!

Good morning dneaster3,

I enjoyed that video.
Thanks for posting it.
If I were doing the install myself, definitely I would watch it repeatedly to get everything right.
Unfortunately, I have to pay someone to do such tedious work, as I do not have the proper “wiring” (patience) for such things.
Neither do I have access to a milling machine.

Fortunately however, the fellow in my city who does have the right “wiring” and professional shop, milling machine and related equipment, for this type of work, is reasonable with his pricing.
Just the cost of having a heavy milling machine, metal lathe and so forth delivered here to Alaska is staggering.
Then, considering the cost of having attended a well respected Gunsmithing school, not to mention his many years experience, I am happy to pay him what he asks.

Thanks again for the video, I enjoyed it very much.

Cheers,
Velo Dog.

Yeah, as the video shows, getting the trigger, cocking piece, and bolt shroud all in sync can be tedious. Don't change the shroud. Just make the other parts mate up to it. If one happens to screw up the cocking piece, a replacement can be found on the net. But, as I discovered, not all 98 Mauser cocking pieces are the same! Actually, someone monkeyed with my gun's cocking piece before I bought the action. I actually had to remove quite a bit of metal from the cocking piece sear before the Timney trigger would work properly. I suppose if I had it to do over again, I might give serious consideration to installing a Timney "Deluxe" trigger with trigger block safety rather than 3-position Model 70 style striker safety. Perhaps the 2-position trigger block design is more "dangerous" in the hands of a novice or idiot, but I've done just fine with Buhler style 2-position striker safety on my Springfield for over fifty years. I never need to close the bolt all the way when unloading Mauser style rifles so "Remington moment" slam fire really is never a possibility even if the gun has safety disengaged.

Looking for
All parts came off of a very lightly used Interarms Mark X. I have these listed elsewhere, but I wanted to make them available to the AH crowd for less than the general public. Not running a business here, just trying to recoup costs for my latest project. I'll split the shipping costs with you guys and can combine into a single box if you want multiple items.

Bolt - $200 $180
Magnum bolt face (300 Win Mag, 7mm Rem Mag, 375 H&H, etc). Commercial shroud with no safety. Unmodified, complete, original condition.

Trigger - $50 $40
Commercial trigger is with included two position safety. Forward to fire. Safety blocks trigger and locks bolt. Fully adjustable for pull weight, sear engagement, and overtravel. Fits all Mauser 98 receivers not just Zastava Interarms Mark X models.

Bottom Metal - $100 $80
Complete trigger guard, floor plate, magazine, magazine spring and follower, and action screws. Like new condition. Steel (magnet sticks to it) not aluminum like some cheaper aftermarket versions.

trperk1, I bought the Kimber Caprivi 375 back in an earlier post. You attached a target with an impressive three rounds touching 100 yards. I took the 2x10 VX5 off and put a VX6 HD Gen 2 1x6x24 Duplex Firedot on the rifle. It's definitely a shooter curious what loads you used for the group. Loving this rifle so fun to shoot. Africa 2026 Mozambique. Buff and PG. Any info appreciated.
