Absolutely, this was a determined charge that was only going to end in one or more deaths! Fortunately both the PHs were excellent and dealt with the charge with clinical efficiency. Not really risky waiting until then. They waited until they could give a high guarantee of stopping the charge with their one opportunity. You watch a lot of charge videos with less experienced PHs who shoot way too soon when animal is still at a distance. It’s not likely you’ll get a second chance. Also, I’m sure a lot less explaining to game department that it was shot in self defense.Once again, I'm a complete amateur but they definitely waited till the last possible second. Risky, but noble for sure.
