Culling belt vs Cartridge Slides

I was planning on adding another Murray leather cartridge slide, and having softs on one, solids on the other. I’m hesitant to go the culling belt route as I worry I might forget the damned thing in the truck!

I used the culling belt from trader Keith in Zimbabwe this July and found it to be perfect.

It allowed me to keep 10rnds of solids in front and 2 softpoints at the opposite end of the belt incase we came across something else.

for plains game I used a Murray leather cartridge slide for .300win and it was perfect
Agree! I have an elephant skin culling belt I bought from an AH member and love it!!! For me culling belt but, and I know you know this, there is no bad choice in your three options. Before I bought my belt I used my Rigby slides and it did fine

Thanks Woodcarver. I'll chase down some Renaissance Wax. I use to use Snowseal on my snow gear and latter leather hunting gear I was taking to Nez Zealand in the winter months. Now use the Meindl boot wax on all that gear. Lanolin softens and protects leather, also good for adding an anti rust/anti binding covering to blots etc. Get it in spray cans, Lanox MX4, Lanotec and others.
The Smithsonian uses Alliance wax for all metal and wood. In my opinion nothing beats it for these two things and it immediately goes on all my guns

Rare Breed, Is that the same Alliance company that Lexol products are under ?

not sure my friend. I just looked it up online and bought a large can that will last forever

Sounds like a good product. Searching online I find something from china, from Malaysia, something for cars and something for seals, etc. If you have a direct link I would appreciate it. Thanks.

Nothing beats custom tailor made, nothing.
Belts are "popular products" of leather workers.

I think it comes down to the following.
Cartridge slide on belt
Cartridge wallet on belt.
Culling belt set up

I used a cartridge wallet set up when I hunted plains game. I also use that when hunting deer or elk.

I decided on the Culling belt for my upcoming Buffalo hunt.
I have a bunch of experience reloading from a culling belt style set up.

I also like that at the end of the day I take the belt off and that is it.
I went the Murray Leather belt.
The elastic loops let me switch between 375 Ruger, 450-400 or 458.
Wearing it around the house the belt is very comfortable.

I use a canvas belt slide from Trader Keith, a Nosler Leather ammo slide, and a 2 round wrist strap on my buffalo hunt last July. I'm going to buy a second canvas belt slide from Trader Keith at the SCI convention to replace the leather ammo slide. That will bring my carried ammo count to 15, 12 rounds on my belt, 2 on my wrist, and 1 in my Ruger #1.

Bandera is that a G96 folding knife on your belt?

Just the handle sticking out is just like an old G96 I have.(y)

I use 2 cartridge slides (by Trader Keith). I put softs in one and solids in the other. The supple leather feels broken in already (unlike some other new slides), holds cartridges very well and not too tight. I like the slides on a separate belt so I can move them around easily (if I want them up front on “final approach”or have to crab-crawl).

I have been using a "Personal Property" rider on my State Farm homeowner's policy to cover guns when I travel with them.
I have several firearms, but only one is worth over $20K (A Heym double rifle).
Very interested.
Would firearms be covered for damage, as well as, complete loss?
I'll can let the State Farm rider cover my watches...

trperk1, I bought the Kimber Caprivi 375 back in an earlier post. You attached a target with an impressive three rounds touching 100 yards. I took the 2x10 VX5 off and put a VX6 HD Gen 2 1x6x24 Duplex Firedot on the rifle. It's definitely a shooter curious what loads you used for the group. Loving this rifle so fun to shoot. Africa 2026 Mozambique. Buff and PG. Any info appreciated.
