As we have become part of the forum we believe it is important to introduce our team to those who don’t know us and to give you a prospective of each individual
My name is Dalton Tink , I am a co owner of Dalton & York safaris . I was born into hunting as my late father was an avid local hunter teaching me the great ethical values and the different styles of hunting at the age of 5 . My passion for the sport grew as I got older and still does today. My focus of the profession I am in is not just to hunt but to manage and conserve the ground for the future generations of our families . I learnt early that do something you love and you will never be unhappy and it’s so true . As I hunter I am competitive and love a challenge, I am driven to succeed and love walking through the unknown bush . Having fun on a safari I believe is a vital part of its success and must always be there . I have 2 trackers Gumz and Tongai and a driver Trymore . I could not ask for more of a team my trackers work in tandem and are incredible to watch while they work, my driver is quiet and is always busy . Without this team I would not be where I am today .

Born in December 1988, I was raised on a farm in the South-East Lowveld of Zimbabwe, this is where I found my love for wildlife and hunting. At the age of 16, I moved to South Africa where I completed my diploma in WIldlife and Lodge Management. I moved back to Zimbabwe in 2009, where I began my apprenticeship with HHK Safaris and qualified as a Professional Hunter in 2012. I have been extremely fortunate as I have hunted in Mozambique, Cameroon and majority of the areas in Zimbabwe. Hunting to me is not a job, but rather a passion. Every safari I conduct, I maintain a strict standard of safety, integrity and ethical hunting. I am extremely proud of my team that has been hunting with me for 11 years. Zvito, my head tracker and Sunnyboy, my driver/tracker are from Dande South Zambezi Valley. They are both incredibly talented when it comes to tracking, aggressively pursuant and extremely experienced, which produces more success on every hunt.
My name is Gareth Brown and I’m 33 years old. I was born and raised in Zimbabwe on a farm outside of Harare. From this humble farm beginning is where my passion for the bush and hunting was born at a very young age. As I grew, my passion for the bush grew with me. In 2011 I started my career as a hunter where my love and respect for wildlife and the environment flourished and continues to do so. As my career has taken me to all corners of the beautiful country of Zimbabwe and its neighbors over the years, I then came on board with Dalton and York Safaris in 2021. My time with them has been fruitful and full of all the twists and turns of adventure that this industry has to offer. My heart and soul lies in the great planes and amongst the majestic animals we strive to track, hunt and protect, all in one.

I was born and Raised in Zimbabwe and was fortunate to have spent many of my younger years on a farm up in the Northern part of Zim. This is where my passion grew for the bush and the wild life in it, from bugs and insects to trees and birds, every part of it kept me entertained for hours. At the Age of 5 I learned that professional hunting was actually a career choice, and thats when my mind was made up, “that’s what i want to be when I’m big!!”
I left school quite young, got busy with a few trades that i figured would always help me when i got to the bush. I started my career in the photographic/non-consumptive side of the industry in the Zambezi Valley in 2009. I worked my way up from the bottom and eventually started guiding and managing camps. My passion has always been for the Hunting, so i jumped around as a freelance appy with many great names in the hunting world and gaining the experience i needed for the final exam. I qualified in 2017 and have not looked back, the places I’ve seen and had the privilege of hunting are out of this world. The hunt for me starts from the ride into camp, be it from the bush airstrip or the long haul from town, getting to spend time with a like minded hunter who is excited to be in MY home is what gets me excited to do what i do best.
I have 3 phenomenal trackers, Chiedza the head tracker who has been with me for 8 years. Boni, he is the main Driver and has been permanent with me now for 4 years and Luke, who is new to the team but has fitted in right away. These men are from a village in the most northern part of Zimbabwe called Dande and Luke is from the Omay, tracking has been a part of their life since they could walk. Chiedza is the older, quieter to start with, more methodical tracker who takes his job very seriously and who does not like to quit. Luke, excellent tracker, has fantastic knowledge, more of an instinctive tracker which compliments Chiedzas style and Boni, more fun, out going and many stories to share, he is a great tracker and likes to get away from the vehicle when given the chance, he reads more then just the track on the ground, together they are ultimately what makes the hunt successful.
That’s us cheers
