Does CZ offer the 404 Jeffery in any other rifle but the safari classic?

Grab the rifle and run. That is a bloody good price for a 404J. as said the CZ404J's were all from the custom shop so any problems will be minimal if any.

Hornady ammo. I can only speak for their 416Rigby. Brass is good the rest id a POS. Their 400 grain DGX bullets I chronied at 2350 fps and my home load Woodleight 410 SN at 2450 fps. The Hornady kicked noticeable harder. Plenty of reports about lack of penetration by the Hornady DGX.

As mentioned by many it's a steal. Definitely get it checked out though before shooting it. When I saw the price alarm bells went off. Hopefully everything is OK. I would reload for it personally. Factory ammo is expensive. When you you get big "toys" though expect all that is associated with it regarding feeding it! I use Norma brass, Woodleigh & Hornady bullets, & Federal 215M primers in my 404J. Agree with @rule303 regarding recoil statement.

You'll hear different opinions. I hear Hornady brass is good and their solids are ok. I wouldn't shoot an elk with their DGX expanding bullets never mind a cape buffalo.
In my 404Jeffery I use cartridges from Hornady with bullet DGX. I never had problems.

I had mine built at the Custom Shop but stayed with Factory Wood, the action was stiff at first but it functioned perfectly. You can save a ton of money if you re-load

What a great way to kick off our 2025 hunting season in South Africa.

This beautiful Impala ram was taken at just over 300 yards, took a few steps and toppled over.

We are looking forward to the next week and a half of hunting with our first client of the year.

Out of all the different color variations of Impala the black Impala just stands out with its beautiful pitch black hide.

Impala is one of the animals you will see all over Africa.
You can see them in herds of a 100 plus together.

This excellent ram was taken with one of our previous client this past season.
