Jacks are awesome dogs. We had one for 14-1/2 yrs. She was a dove retrieving, deer trailing machine. Nothing she loved more was sitting with me in a bow blind. Don’t let her little fuzzy face fool you ... she was a badass!!

Glad he is ok. That's one tough little dude.

I shot a bushbuck on my 2017 trip. The PH told me to make a good shot because they will attack when wounded. I do not remember him saying that about other animals I shot. I shot from a high up angle at 275 yards and the shot ended up a bit low. It went into the heavy brush. I felt about 1" tall. We went down to where it went in and luckily a quick finishing shot ended it before he could cause any harm. Only damn animal I needed 2 shots on and it had to be that one.

I wounded a bushbuck on my safari last year, and he poked the PH's dog in the hip before I could finish him. Fortunately it was just a flesh wound, and with a shot of antibiotics the little guy was back on the hunt the next morning. He was a little gimpy, but no less game!

Both These 2 dogs are all good have got numerous wounded animals since then...
The Bushbuck was wounded and they had it bayed up. The bush was really thick so the dogs had little room to run away as the bushbuck was charging them. Lucky we managed to get close in and finish him off before some real damage was made.
