Double rifle abuse… here we go again!

I remember watching his video afterwards explaining the event. And the reaction videos from other YT personalities, including the Serbu guy himself.

The KB guy and everyone else said that you’re not supposed to shoot sabot rounds through a brake but then they ALL said that he did NOTHING WRONG!!!!

How’s that possible?lol IMO they were all scared to criticize him because of his large following and the effect it might have on their channels.

Even the Serbu guy who has a financial interest in proving his rifles don’t just magically blow up on their own!!!

The KB guy would not admit he did something stupid and that he should’ve known better and done his research. That refusal was incredibly unethical IMO as some of his followers may actually think that it’s ok to shoot sabot rounds through a brake.

Maybe that was "what was wrong with the ammo" ha ha. Yeah I would say that a SABOT through a muzzle brake is definitely a No Go. I would have thought he would know better than that.

Not to mention nobody in their right mind would shoot surplus 50 bmg ammo. Let alone sabot rounds through a brake. How old is that ammo? How many different places, humidities and temperatures has it been stored? Who even loaded it? Mix that with a bottom of the barrel, POS glorified pipe bomb and the only conclusion is that he is lucky to be alive.

My favorite part of that video is just before when he's slinging the empty case on the table like a d-bag and then his stupidity litterally blows up in his face.

That video should be shown at every gun and hunter safety course as an example as to why we don't treat guns like toys.

Yeah, I was under the impression he just got some bad ammo, maybe an over charged round from the factory or some that had been mishandled and somehow the powder had degraded or something crazy like that. I did not realize they were SABOT rounds. That is crazy

The 50 BMG Rounds are described in "The Video"

I hate to talk against the Individual, that was a devastating blow & now know a "458 Lott vs. Car" comparison ;

But it really prompts the Thought of YouTube $$$$ .. ;

Though I think everything's been thoroughly covered.

I have watched test ran on 50 BMG uppers like these. They actually threaded a bolt in the muzzle of the rifle. It ended up shooting the bolt out of the end of the rifle, it did not cause any other damage.

A sabot did not cause that gun to blow up, that was an over pressure. Like someone used to fast a powder in it, IMO that's along the lines of what happened. The plastic from the sabot might shear off going through the brake, again might. One thing it will not do is cause the gun to blow up like it did.

The wad on a shotgun was the hardest thing to work around for suppressor manufacturers. Now they put in rails so the wad can ride on them and not open up til out of the gun.

I will respectfully have to disagree. The way the rifle acted different each shot leads me to believe in the build up theory. After looking at how the rifle was put together, with the threaded cap and all. I could see it happening.
That rifle looked like something a kid made in shop class.
I have seen the barrel of .410 shotgun that was peeled open by mud.

Big difference between a shotgun barrel and a rifle barrel.

I have messed up an action before when I was young dumb and not a clue. Rifle and pistol power do not go together.

Look up some results of pistol powder in a rifle, you may or may not be surprised. For those reason I will not buy reloads from places like gun shows.

What I would love to see since he makes so much money is IVW taking him on a real elephant hunt that would be fun with real live feeds from boths sides him and IVW.

Lets make it tuskless hunts for more added fun.

His behavior is disgusting, and disgraceful . Bad karma, I would not be near him in a hunt even if he tried to behave

I don’t think he hunts from his comments on his channel. He goes out of his way to say he is not “one of those people” and is not taking the gun hunting when he talks about his double rifles in a couple videos. So I doubt any of us will ever see this dude in a camp. Honestly I believe if he continues down his path he will earn that Darwin Award he has been shooting for. (Hope for his sake he rights his ways of gun handling before he kills himself)

Mark Serbu posted a few videos on this incident and his research. The most likely reason he found was the SLAP rounds were reloads and potentially one (or more)loaded with pistol powders. The energy generated replicates what the damage could be. Other possible are over charges with faster burning powders.
An explanation of unscrupulous people taking advantage of the market value has merit. No shortage or overcharges and blow ups online either.
Fatigue to me just doesn't explain the force needed to shear threads of that treatment and material. However, all of this only subjective bantering really.

One takeaway, one should never fire potentially reloaded ammo from a source they are unsure of. Surplus rounds in 50bmg included.

No no no you have to fire any and all exotic/novelty rounds, regardless of age or condition, through your cheap a** .50 cal because views and money right…?Right good.

I'm sure there's some surplus 20mm he can fire in an Anzio next. May need more than a thumb to plug the hole, but views are views, right?
