I remember watching his video afterwards explaining the event. And the reaction videos from other YT personalities, including the Serbu guy himself.Me too.
As many have commented he is an idiotAs usual thanks for your input............................
Maybe that was "what was wrong with the ammo" ha ha. Yeah I would say that a SABOT through a muzzle brake is definitely a No Go. I would have thought he would know better than that.I remember watching his video afterwards explaining the event. The KB guy and everyone else said that you’re not supposed to shoot sabot rounds through a brake but then they ALL said that he did NOTHING WRONG!!!!
How’s that possible?lol IMO they were all scared to criticize him because of his large following and the effect it might have on their channels.
Even the Serbu guy who has a financial interest in proving his rifles don’t just magically blow up on their own!!!
The KB guy would not admit he did something stupid and that he should’ve known better and done his research. That refusal was incredibly unethical IMO as some of his followers may actually think that it’s ok to shoot sabot rounds through a brake.
Yeah, I was under the impression he just got some bad ammo, maybe an over charged round from the factory or some that had been mishandled and somehow the powder had degraded or something crazy like that. I did not realize they were SABOT rounds. That is crazyNot to mention nobody in their right mind would shoot surplus 50 bmg ammo. Let alone sabot rounds through a brake. How old is that ammo? How many different places, humidities and temperatures has it been stored? Who even loaded it? Mix that with a bottom of the barrel, POS glorified pipe bomb and the only conclusion is that he is lucky to be alive.
My favorite part of that video is just before when he's slinging the empty case on the table like a d-bag and then his stupidity litterally blows up in his face.
That video should be shown at every gun and hunter safety course as an example as to why we don't treat guns like toys.
They did a follow up video on it with the guy who designed the gun. It apparently was due to an over pressure from some poorly loaded slap rounds.I thought the 50 cal blew up because he was shooting sabot rounds through a brake?
I have watched test ran on 50 BMG uppers like these. They actually threaded a bolt in the muzzle of the rifle. It ended up shooting the bolt out of the end of the rifle, it did not cause any other damage.I remember watching his video afterwards explaining the event. And the reaction videos from other YT personalities, including the Serbu guy himself.

That’s not doing stupid crap with guns for money so he probably wouldn’t be interested…What I would love to see since he makes so much money is IVW taking him on a real elephant hunt that would be fun with real live feeds from boths sides him and IVW.
Lets make it tuskless hunts for more added fun.
He is making money with clicks, simple investment into a businessThat’s the thing about today’s internet “celebrities”- Too much money and not much in the way of brains.
I don’t think he hunts from his comments on his channel. He goes out of his way to say he is not “one of those people” and is not taking the gun hunting when he talks about his double rifles in a couple videos. So I doubt any of us will ever see this dude in a camp. Honestly I believe if he continues down his path he will earn that Darwin Award he has been shooting for. (Hope for his sake he rights his ways of gun handling before he kills himself)His behavior is disgusting, and disgraceful . Bad karma, I would not be near him in a hunt even if he tried to behave
Mark Serbu posted a few videos on this incident and his research. The most likely reason he found was the SLAP rounds were reloads and potentially one (or more)loaded with pistol powders. The energy generated replicates what the damage could be. Other possible are over charges with faster burning powders.I will respectfully have to disagree. The way the rifle acted different each shot leads me to believe in the build up theory. After looking at how the rifle was put together, with the threaded cap and all. I could see it happening.
That rifle looked like something a kid made in shop class.
I have seen the barrel of .410 shotgun that was peeled open by mud.
No no no you have to fire any and all exotic/novelty rounds, regardless of age or condition, through your cheap a** .50 cal because views and money right…?Right good.Mark Serbu posted a few videos on this incident and his research. An explanation of unscrupulous people taking advantage of the market value has merit. No shortage or overcharges and blow ups online either.
Fatigue to me just doesn't explain the force needed to shear threads of that treatment and material. However, all of this only subjective bantering really.
One takeaway, one should never fire potentially reloaded ammo from a source they are unsure of. Surplus rounds in 50bmg included.
I'm sure there's some surplus 20mm he can fire in an Anzio next. May need more than a thumb to plug the hole, but views are views, right? No no no you have to fire any and all exotic/novelty rounds, regardless of age or condition, through your cheap a** .50 cal because views and money right…?Right good.
