Dove Hunting in the US

I live in Yuma, AZ and had a blast the first couple opening days! I need to scout some more areas as we are getting invaded by californians every year.. LOL.. I got shot twice on opening day.. Luckily neither shot pierced my skin.. But they did leave some welts on my back!

Our day 1 take on September 6. Day 2 and 3 were much slower. Our temp dropped Fri night and I believe the doves went south. No matter. We had a fine time!

That's not bad for a "slow" day.. LOL.. We have a LOT of Dove here in Yuma.. The 2nd season is awesome since it overlaps with Quail!

I wish Michigan allowed Dove hunting. You guys probably can’t imagine it not being legal.

I do have a Grouse and Woodcock hunt planned in a few weeks. Not near the amount of shooting. And a lot of walking for those few rushed shots.

I miss chasing Ruffies and Woodcock in Northern Mich, especially during the color change.

I'll be in UP mid October with my springers chasing grouse.
Hopefully there will be some woodcock still around.
