Dreyse 11mm Double Rifle - what did I buy? centerfire or needle gun?

11mm double rifles are my favorite, Here's another of my doubles in 11mm. The rifle weighs only 6 pounds 5 ounces with a 14-3/8" LOP over a checkered Horn Butt Plate. Top of the rib has Gold Inlay; "Chr. Pauli . Munster ." It has Back Action Locks with rebounding hammers, 26" Barrels w/ Gold Ring Inlays at the Breach. It has a Single Standing Rear Sight and a Gold Bead Front Sight. Both Triggers have "Set" features. It has a Horn Trigger guard and a Scalloped Horn Grip Cap. It is Overall Engraved with Game Animals and decorative Scrolls and Vines.

Now I know the absolute reason! The 11mm Mauser double rifle is also a favorite of mine!
My own is a JP Sauer circa 1896 I believe.

I would assume the other two rifles would have breech assemblies similar to this one. It is no bid deal. You will know when it arrives.

The breech faces of the Chr. Pauli . Munster, and the Kettner, double rifles, are standard "flat face" as typical of any break-action double. Nothing at all like that of of "swivel-pivot" action of the Dreyse DR.

Well, I got the rifle in hand today. This is a marvelous little double rifle. Action is tight as new when made in the 1890s, and it operates silky smooth. There is no doubt - this is a center-fire cartridge double rifle as witnessed by a chamber cast. Its in 11.15x60R caliber (43 Mauser) I can't wait to take it to the range to see how it shoots. But it may be a while. Outdoor temperature were 10 degrees today.

Is it still fully functioning? Firing pins are there?

Absolutely fully functional. The firing pins re-cock when the action is opened. This double was well cared for, and remains in perfect mechanical condition. Chambers and Bore are both mint.
And both triggers are set-triggers. 5 pounds pull when un-set, and 4 ounces when set.

Well, back from the field test, and I am tremendously happy with this little doubles performance. Its ready to go for next year's deer hunting.
