I just wanted to call out a memory that I will never forget. On my very first safari I am a Georgia boy who had never traveled to another continent before going to Africa by myself. To say I was scared to death is an understatement. I was at JNB airport wearing one of my DSC shirts when a man came up to me introducing himself as a former president of DSC. He made me feel so secure that there were people present of a kindred spirit and I instantly was at peace. I am so embarrassed that I was so in shock I did not stand up but was sitting when I shook this kind man’s hand. Shame on me!!! I will forever be grateful to this kind man who stored up treasure in heaven on that day. My message is when we hunt in Africa with my now having taken many trips since that day let’s look out for the newbie and let them know they are in good hands and although not knowing us personally they are never alone

We need a special run of those AH hats to recognise each other :D

Another Georgia boy agrees with you 100%!

I travel incognito. I travel solo on most of my trips. In today's world of hatred for hunting, why do I want to attract possible trouble? I wear nothing that denotes hunting and I have my bow case camoed to look like a traveling case for a guitar or large horn such as a saxophone.

I also do not put stickers "vehicle tattoos" on my vehicle. Great advertisement for harassment, vandalism or theft.

Just my simple 2 cents !!

I was thinking stickers might be cool-put them on gun cases or truck windows-so you know who is associated with the website. I’m not ashamed to be a hunter but I generally don’t make it a statement either

I generally dress like a bum when traveling for a variety of reason. Mainly, I don't want to look like I have any money. Helps in keeping the pickpockets and the crazies away.

I have absolutely no qualms about others knowing what I do. If they have a problem with it, well, it's their problem. When I travel to Africa I wear my Courteneys and safari jacket, which is also great for neatly storing passport, papers, permits, etc. I've never been approached by untoward people, pickpocketed or otherwise harassed--actually I've had many people come and socialize with me, either hunters themselves or simply folks curious about an activity they're unfamiliar with.

I know I have also changed minds about hunting and conservation, sometimes precisely because of this.

I have my AH ballcap and I wear it out routinely. I don't think that as a hunter I should keep my passion and my beliefs closeted. I know I'm not doing anything wrong and I have zero to be ashamed or shy of. To each his own, though, and I genuinely respect everyone's attitude toward this--I'm sure everyone's experience is different and so are the conclusions they draw.

Not many people that live in RSA know what DSC (etc) is. So if you are from overseas and it creates another hunting brother go for it .I think it is a nice way to show where your support in various fields lie like pro gun, conservation, anti-poaching etc

Morning Rob, Any feeling for how the 300 H&H shoots? How's the barrel condition?

Hello. I see you hunted with Sampie recently. If you don't mind me asking, where did you hunt with him? Zim or SA? And was it with a bow? What did you hunt?

I am possibly going to book with him soon.
Currently doing a load development on a .404 Jeffrey... it's always surprising to load .423 caliber bullets into a .404 caliber rifle. But we love it when we get 400 Gr North Fork SS bullets to 2300 FPS, those should hammer down on buffalo. Next up are the Cutting Edge solids and then Raptors... load 200 rounds of ammo for the customer and on to the next gun!
