European African Mounting ideas?

I’m looking for some ideas on how to mount a bunch of European African skulls together or on a neat wood display. Ideas and pictures would be of great help!!

The whole continent of Africa comes to mind as a plaque to put a few to several depending on how big you have it made.

How many Euro mounts are you wanting to place on the board?

I did a quick random Google search. The site showed images of a central post with offset limbs extending out, on each limb is an individual mount.

Something similar to decorating a Christmas tree.

I love this mount; it's a lot closer to the way you actually see them, compared with the bird's eye view of the top of the boss that you get with a standard European mount on a buff. Plus it saves wall space.

The perfect buffalo Euro mount would be this one, with a .474 diameter hole dead center just above the eye line......

I just happened to have a rifle that shoots a .474 cal. Bullet! Lol!

Then I think a 4" x 4" x 6' or 8' center post on a solid base, with limbs of 3" x 3" x 28", 36", 44" on opposite sides of the 4 x 4, evenly spaced top to bottom. Length would depend on sizes of center euro mounts and plaques. In front on the 4 x 4, 3 x 3 x 6", 12", 18" (depending on size of the largest horns and skulls of the euro mounts) evenly spaced apart and between the limbs holding the smaller euro mounts.

I'm no artist but this should give you the concept of what I'm describing:

The euro mounts plaques would be of appropriate size small to large, top to bottom.

Fits relatively nicely into a corner of a room, or along vacant wall space.

Of course this is just a basic design. It depends on the ceiling height, sizes and weights of mounts, how much of space is available, etc. etc. As a nice pedestal cabinet base could be used as a base.

If you have the wall space the Africa silhouette that was mentioned would look nice and could be made large enough to handle that many mounts. Alternatively you could paint the outline of Africa on the wall and do individual or groups of euros together vs a single plaque

I prefer the naked look. Same basic idea for platform but different angles for different species. Blue wildebeest, for example, can be mounted almost parallel to the wall while waterbuck skulls must be tipped back significantly or the horns stick straight out in the room. I mount buffalo at about 30 degrees nose tipped out from wall (= 70 degrees from horizontal) to give best view of bosses, spread, and drop. Impala and springbuck can be mounted almost vertically. Kudu and gemsbuck tipped back slightly. Mule deer and pronghorn must be tipped back significantly while whitetail only slightly. Curiously, as big as moose skulls are, they should be mounted flat to the wall. Elk skulls on the other hand must be tipped back significantly or the rack is sticking way out in the room. Barbary sheep required the most adjustment to display properly. My only sheep. I suspect other species are just as difficult. Mounted tipped back and well away from the wall.

That would be a nice setup. To bad, I can’t bring a piece African wood/tree back home

You could have a piece treated/sealed and shipped with your trophies. It would increase your shipping weight.

We did this when shipping wooden items/ souvenirs from South America to the US.

Use a bit of imagination and creativity to use the crate wood into making the base and limbs.

Here are 2 European mounts from 2023 trip to Botswana. The eland and gemsbok are on generic basswood plaques from Hobby Lobby. I'm also thinking about a larger wall wood plaque of South Africa for some PG mounts, impala, bushbuck, springbok.
