Was trying out some different loads in a new Savage rifle and I think I found one that will get it done. This is a 5 Shot, 100yd group off a front sandbag with no back rest using the above Factory Federal Load. It’s shooting a touch high. I was aiming for the “9” given I’d been testing a bunch of different factory loads for best grouping.

The 175gr Terminal Ascent shot almost as good. Not sure if I had a 1/2” flyer with the Terminal Ascent or I pulled the 3rd shot slightly. I’ll test both loads again just to confirm. The Terminal Ascent was my 9th load out of 12, so it’s highly possible it was me.

185gr GMM Berger, 150gr TTSX and 165gr TSX all were under an inch. 165gr Accubond was about 2 inches along with 150gr American Whitetail and 150gr Power-Shok. 178gr ELD-X shot the worst at 3.5 inches with. 180gr Trophy Tipped, Power-Shok, and Core-Lokt all shot around an inch and a half.

My AI shoots the 185 FGMM the same as your rifle is shooting the 168s. The SDs is what surprised me the most, 3.4fps for 10 rds. Factory ammo sure has come a long ways, even in the last 5 years.

Hoping to be in it over a chronograph in the next couple weeks. I’m anticipating low SD’s but typically the FGMM has some of the lowest.
