Hmmmmm.... Not very good PR for the hunting industry and all hunters in the world. Time after time unfortunately this "extreme huntress" creating so much hate against hunting because this Facebook mistakes... I'm sure we can thank them for the import embargo of ivory to US and so also the hunting ban for lion and leopard in Zambia/Botswana.

Unt, hope a lawsuit can stop this anti hunters, but I also hope that this hunting girls stop to post everything they do on Facebook !

I guess I just don't understand the whole "facebook" (and social media) thing........to me, it's just folks screaming "HEY, LOOK AT ME!!!! LOOK AT WHAT I'M DOING NOW!!!", like some little kid craving attention. I can see a reason for some folks to do it (businesses, people in who need to be in the public eye, politicians, etc), but I think people are more tuned into their Iphones and computers than each other....I evidenced this the other day while having dinner with my wife. A young couple sitting at a table waiting for their meal, and instead of talking and gazing into each others' eyes, they had their heads down and were each taping away on their phones; it wasn't until a few moments later that I realized that THEY WERE TEXTING EACH OTHER while sitting right across the table from one another!

Simply unbelievable.........(n)

You are absolutely right 16 gauge. The whole Facebook think makes no since to people like us. Young people in particular, (not just teenagers) can't get off the crap. They want their so-called "friends" to know every movie they see and every french fry they eat. I will never understand it. If I want my friends to see a pic of a taken animal and myself, or my grand kids for that matter, I will send it to them either by email or a hard copy by regular mail!

I have no regrets posting my hunting trophies our my collection on face book. I try though to never put anything bloody or gory. We will be attacked anyway.

not a great photo lying on the ground next to it with a big grin on her face.............
I agree. I think we as hunters need to be a bit more sensitive in the kind of photos we post on line. I realize no matter what we will be under attack.

Everyone is offended by everything these days. The left attacks those who don't support gay rights, killing unborn children, think animals have the same rights as humans or think the government is not your mother and should be your safety net. The right attacks back with little tolerance for those different from themselves or views.

I think opera sucks. I think home renovation shows are a waste of time. So I don't watch them. If people don't like something they should not participate or avoid locations where your apt to run into what you consider offensive. I don't send harassing messages or attack the things I don't care for.

So if somebody posts something on Facebook you don't like un friend the bastards and get over it.

What I dont get is how some because it is a woman have a problem with her laying next to a giraffe but then think it is ok that some guy sits on top of a ele or buff. Man or woman how they pose with a trophy is there call. The anti crowd just hate seeing dead animals. Yes I wish people would think more about what pictures they post but it is a free country and giving in only hurts us.
I just had a big battle with some knuckle heads on facebook. I made a comment about a father standing next to his daughter getting ready to fly out. Said great to see a dad getting his kid out to hunt. Well the anti started calling names and that it is terrible to see kids hunting. Mind you there is no animals in the pictures at all.

Well after many threats towards me and blah blah I left them with this nice piece of info. I told them for each stupid comment they made I would hunt another animal in there honor. Hell I may not even have enough money to hunt all the animals after all the dumb comments they made. LOL

The worse thing we can do is try an judge other hunters and look at anti's like they will stop if we are nicer.

I personally think its s dumb pose for a picture. But that's me.
What I don't get is why do people give a chit what Ricky gervais thinks?

That guy is a douchebag.

Well said, Billc, but one thing we need to remember is that it isn't the antihunters who we have to worry about......they are going to remain ignorant (and unemployed, as fast as the seem to be typing negative comments.......things must be slow down at the hippie bookstores!). The folks we have to worry about are those whom are relatively neutral when it comes to hunting. We in the States have moved away from a society that was mostly rural over the last 50-70 years. Both my folks grew up on farms; today you're lucky if you can find someone who knows what a farm is! A lot of people think that it's were you keep ducks, chickens, goats, cows, etc. as pets! (I kid you not!!). The people who need to be swayed are those who don't necessarily have an aversion to hunting, but haven't been exposed to it. For example, there is a big, BIG push to "save the wolves" here in the midwest. I dare say that any of those folks who are living in the city and are wearing a "save the wolf" T shirt (again, made by the hippies in the bookstore:rolleyes:) have never SEEN a wolf in the wild, let alone see how they bring down a moose or deer, or how they attack livestock or pets. Posting photos that are somewhat glib and disrespectful will only push these "fence sitters" to the opposite side, no matter how much we try and present the truth.

O.K., let me be the first to give that a hearty "AMEN".........the guy is supposedly a comedian, but I've yet to see him say or do anything funny. Maybe it's lost on my because I'm not British?

Here we go again Bill;)

For one I can't agree with getting on or over a animal you have killed, respect whatever you persue as a worthy adversary. They paid with their life for you to either put food on the table, complete a life long dream or fill a spot on your wall.
Second make sure of the traditions in the country you hunt in or the people you hunt with. The "lady" on the boar is Olivia Nalos Opre, yes from the Extreme Huntress show. This boar was hunted and killed in Hungary, a country steaped in tradion and rituals. One of them is that you never, never even step over a dead animal, much less mount one!!! This was cut from the eventual DVD because of complaints. Nothing to do with being female.

The "lady" in the photo below is disgraceful, my opinion. Yes you get male hunters who do the same.

There is a difference between jumping on a downed Elephant and putting a insurance shot into the brain, but I don't agree with sitting on it.
Woman are soft targets and the more of them post these type of things the more they will get targeted. It is stupidity to make public displays of disrespect towards the animal you hunted, male or female hunter.

its ok as i dont get him either............

hunthard the one of the boar is i think a screwed up version of a tradition in hungary where if its your first boar you are bent over the boar, and anyone of the others who have taken boar can hit that person on the butt with a branch or stick. but its done so the person leans over the animal from the side and not as she is positioned. i have seen it done on a couple of the boar shoots i hace been on.

as for the lion one well probably dont want to hear my opinion of that one as you might blush....;)

Spike.t I know about the canning in Hungary:V Make My Day: but I can assure you tradition dictates that you do not lie or step over the animal, normally the canning is done over a log.

bill i think you know my opinion of that as well from another thread , so i cant be called sexist on this one........

ok but the chief huntsman organised it and as his name was attila nobody disagreed.........;)

I am proud of my sport, I have posted my pics on facebook, my privacy settings allow only certain friends to see these photos. I also belong to a page on Facebook that is private to members only. I have always tried to talk conservation and the positives that our sport contributes to others, sadly I have realized that antis only respond by emotion and not reason. We call them "keyboard warriors" as they can say anything from the secrecy of their computer screen. I think some of the photos certainly bring some shame to our sport, ie. laying down next to giraffe neck, placing hats and glasses on the animal etc. we must be proud and respectful of the game we harvest, it never hurts to learn basic cultural norms while we are in anothers country also. I certainly am not preaching, and I hope no one takes it that way, I think we can be our own worst enemies.

The photo laying by the giraffe is neither disrespectful nor distasteful. Anyone who has issue with it needs to get over it, there is no defense needed for it. I for one will not bend or bow down every time the narrow minded have a problem with something that they have little to no information or understanding of.

The fact that there are those of us here that are supporting the antis position that this photo is somehow wrong quite frankly disturbs me.

There are other photos of her that are certainly disrespectful but this is not one of them and we must judge it on its own merits.

Dh you are entitled to your opinion and i know you have stated the same in other similar type of threads , but i still think its a ridiculous photo.........looks like she is trying to cuddle up to a large cuddly soft toy she takes to bed with her.....
