The photo laying by the giraffe is neither disrespectful nor distasteful. Anyone who has issue with it needs to get over it, there is no defense needed for it. I for one will not bend or bow down every time the narrow minded have a problem with something that they have little to no information or understanding of.

The fact that there are those of us here that are supporting the antis position that this photo is somehow wrong quite frankly disturbs me.

There are other photos of her that are certainly disrespectful but this is not one of them and we must judge it on its own merits.

Well, I'm afraid I must respectfully disagree with most of what you posted......I feel it is distasteful, but that's just my "narrow mind" at work. As for "defense", I hope you remember that as more and more fence sitters get pushed over to the antihunting side of things by photos and actions such as this, and lend their support to such things as .....oh, I don't know; maybe ivory and lion importation bans?

I don't think I am supporting the anti's position by being opposed to this photo, I rather feel that I am trying to take the high road and promote that not everyone that goes to Africa to hunt behaves in such a childish manner, and has some respect for the animals that they are hunting (unlike the individual who put the beer can in the lions mouth)

But, hey.............that's just my opinon; you do what you feel best.

I think she was laying down next to the Giraffe just to show the size of the animal in comparison to her own body... just like we put a cartridge or cigarette pack next to a track before taking a picture. An innocent picture that the antis are using maliciously.

Jerome I think that is what she was doing. I find it much more disrespectful when some sits on any animal myself. But I would never tell them they cant or look down on them for it.

I think mr 16 gauge has the point to look at they we tend to overlook. As hunters our group is not growing and the people on the bubble are the ones we need to keep on the bubble or make them ok with hunting. It is finding the place were you have your rights but think of others also as we all do what we like. Its a fine line we all must find but sticking together as hunters is a must

We don't have to like the pictures - we didn't take them. I've posted pictures of one of my hunts only recently (because I'm an old guy and have only recently discovered that Facebook is a wonderful way to keep in touch with people I don't often get to see.) They've also been posted here on this site also. I've had some negative comments on Facebook about kids with guns in the picture and the birds on a pickup tailgate, both of which I thought were great shots, so I don't think it matters very much how we portray ourselves. We can either be proud of who we are and express that pride, or hide in the corner until hunting finally goes away.

I'm not saying hide the photos in a corner; just be a little more cognizant of what you are posting for the whole world to see. .....and yes, I know you are not going to make everyone happy, and everyone loves to come out post with the annonimity of the internet (like our mental midget friend Jumbojumbojumbo) and post something stupid, proving that a horse's ass doesn't necessarily have to have a tail in front of it.

This days during a PH course it's a chapter in the education regarding how a ethnical and respectful trophy photos should be taken, because most of the time the ph is behind the camera.

I think that a trophy photo directly show what kind of person or hunter you are... Furthermore to say that we should post what we want on public media to not show weakness against the anti hunters is rubbish speaking, when ethical hunters is the one that finally pay for the mistake that is created by foolish people...

I will bet anyone money the anti's are trolling this website to find stuff to use against us. We should support her in anyway possible, she is one of us. I sometimes think people like good old Ricky post stuff like this not to get Anti's fired up but cause division amongst us. And with all due respect if you don't like her post, keep it to yourself, we need to appear as united as possible.

Don't worry about the on fence crowd, I live in DC and travel all over, they will come around, it might cost you some deer meat but how you carry yourself is worth more than any picture.

I think the standard answer back is that Sir you are entitled to your opinion>> If the attacking of lady hunters is continued by the individual continues the response changes. to Sir now based on your behaviour and not respecting some else's right to their hobbies and opinion. I am now booking a hunt and I will harvest a animal in your name and give you credit with photo's on every social media outlet I can find. So you have a choice shall I hunt a Zebra/ Giraffe/lion you must pick the animal to be harvested? Also If you fail to pick one; all three will be harvested in you name!

there is a big difference between having an opinion on whether a photo is suitably take or not and division.....not one person is saying that person shouldnt hunt just take better photos .............

I agree with you we are all supporting one's right to hunt. But in my opinion we shouldn't critize eachother if everything we do is ethical and legal. Just scene too many "discussions" on bows/x-bows, high-fence/free range, etc. Just don't want to give the anti's any more ammo against us.

This is exactly what I saw in the photo, nothing more. I don't think the antis problem was with the photo, it was with the killing of a beautiful giraffe, lay beside a warthog and no one notices.

I wonder how many tourists who are self proclaimed "animal rights activists" and "anti hunters" would stop visiting national parks in Africa if they knew how many giraffes, springbok, zebras, wildebeest, etc... that are culled every year for the purpose of game management? They are clueless as to what those parks would look like without such practices or the kinds of natural selection like starvation and diseases that would ravage the species that became over populated and the effects that it would have on the other animals. It's completely illogical.

I don’t claim to be a game biologist and do not intend to argue specifics about the undeniable necessity of game management to promote the conservation and preservation of animals. There is no question that hunters contribute the most to the welfare of wildlife. I believe in the right to hunt. I believe that hunters promote wildlife more than any other source. However, whether hunting is right or wrong is no longer the issue at hand. Ricky Gervais has used his power and influence to specifically target women in the hunting industry and has sparked thousands of people to call for my death, the death of my family and many other women who hunt.

This has evolved into an issue about the morality of threatening human lives over disagreeing with someone else’s beliefs. It shocks me that people who claim to be so loving and caring for animals can turn around and threaten to murder and rape my children. Where is the logic in that? In a country that was created on freedom of beliefs, it is hard to comprehend that people are so intolerant of each other that they promote vile, disgusting, and explicit ways to invoke death upon others.

I am proud to call myself a hunter. I am proud to be a woman in the hunting industry. I am proud to be a mother. I will never apologize for these things. Hunting is a way of life I have known since birth, and I have experienced first hand all of the good that comes from it. Hunters will continue to unite to educate those who do not have a clear understanding of role of hunting in wildlife management. Hunting has been crucial to the balance of nature since the beginning of time, and it is even more crucial today.
