For Sale Pre-64 Winchester M70 .375 H&H

I was very tempted by this rifle until a friend agreed to sell a rifle to me I’ve been wanting for years. Also, I don’t think you mentioned Talley scope bases are already installed and coated. I bet if I got my hands on it and was able to verify good accuracy, I’d probably still buy it! Good Luck!

Yes, thank you, Talley mounts are on and coated. I just dont have the rings. Congrats on your other rifle purchase!

I really really like those Echols stocks. The design and geometry for mitigating recoil, with the correct LOP is outstanding. Have one on a 458 build and it’s excellent. Maybe one day we’ll be able to buy em from McMillan directly…

Hi Tyguy,

Beautiful M70 pre-64. I have one, in its origial dressing, made in 1954. By the way, I think the bases are for the first Warne mounting sistem, the Warne Premier. The same I have in my M70.
Good luck with the sale!

Yup. As I mentioned in another thread. They are great stocks designed by a someone who truly knows his business.

A few question, if I may. …. Who did the custom work installing the rear F/L sight and the barrel banded front sight? Neither are factory.

What’s the round count on this rifle?

Did you have pics of the sight-in target at 50- or 100-yds? Thanks.
Hi Jack,

I don't know for a fact but there is a chance NECG did the work as those are where the sights came from.

I do not have an accurate round count nor sight in targets unfortunately. All I know is what the previous owner, who I believe owned it for at least 25 years before I purchased it. He hunted with it and kept it in a safe. He said it was very accurate. But I do not have any visual proof of the unfortunately.

Thanks,

Tyler

This looks like a very nice rifle and a motivated seller. This is a good price for what is ooffered. I have a M70 .375 H&H and it is very accurate and easy to shoot.

A good rifle for Alaska.

What a great way to kick off our 2025 hunting season in South Africa.

This beautiful Impala ram was taken at just over 300 yards, took a few steps and toppled over.

We are looking forward to the next week and a half of hunting with our first client of the year.
