I am listing a Winchester Model 70 Safari Express in 416 Remington Magnum for sale. This gun is new in the box and unfired. I bought it a few months ago and got a Ruger No. 1-H Tropical in .458 Win Mag at around the same time. I had the No. 1 re-chambered to .458 Lott and really love that gun now, and I don't need two safari rifles. So I have decided to put the Model 70 up for sale.

I am asking $1,200 plus shipping to your FFL. I would prefer an FFL who accepts from an individual, but can have an FFL ship on my behalf if needed.

I'll accept payment via USPS Money Order or Cashier's Check.

First "I'll take it" gets the gun.

I appreciate your interest!

Beautiful rifle , and I hope that you find a buyer soon . Winchester does not do the black horn on the tip of the fore end , anymore ?

Thank you! They do still do the black tip but it is only on their Super Grade models now, and they don't chamber those in any of the safari cartridges, unfortunately. The Super Grades are real classy looking rifles.

Thanks! I'd keep both but I don't reload and swinging factory ammo for two safari rifles is just a bit more than I care to do. I'll probably start reloading at some point, but I don't have the time or commitment to do it right now, unfortunately.

@hammz
That is a real shame . The pre 1964 Winchester Model 70 “ African “ in .458 Winchester Magnum calibre used to have a beautiful super grade stock . An American friend of mine who came to hunt wild boar in Bangladesh in 1981 , had brought one . He purchased his one in 1963 . Unlike most pre 1964 Winchester Model 70s , his one was reinforced by cross bolts and had dual recoil lugs .

Very nice rifle.

Had a change of heart and have decided to keep this big brute. The gun is no longer for sale. I realized I would miss it way too much.
Attaboy!

Morning Rob, Any feeling for how the 300 H&H shoots? How's the barrel condition?

Hello. I see you hunted with Sampie recently. If you don't mind me asking, where did you hunt with him? Zim or SA? And was it with a bow? What did you hunt?

I am possibly going to book with him soon.
Currently doing a load development on a .404 Jeffrey... it's always surprising to load .423 caliber bullets into a .404 caliber rifle. But we love it when we get 400 Gr North Fork SS bullets to 2300 FPS, those should hammer down on buffalo. Next up are the Cutting Edge solids and then Raptors... load 200 rounds of ammo for the customer and on to the next gun!
