Dear fellow members,

As some of you know, I have just returned from Germany and a years-long mobilization with the military. So, I'm taking a hard look at my extensive European weapons collection and offloading most of it to fund other projects. One of the rifles I bought had a Zeiss attached, and although it's a top-quality optic, I'd prefer the money now. Full disclosure: Ebay has an identical model at $1500, I've got this listed on Guns International for $1200, but I'd like to offer it to members here for $1k with S&H to your address included -- this forum has been extraordinarily helpful and perhaps I can pay it forward. Likely, someone here can use this more often than me.

Description:
Zeiss Diavari-ZA 1.5-6x42 T* manufactured in West Germany. Has original Zeiss optic cover. "T" post reticle - crystal clear and extremely sharp. Zeiss is well-regarded for its exceptional clarity, durability, and low-light performance. The scope features Zeiss’s renowned T* multi-coating, which enhances light transmission and provides bright, high-contrast images. Light surface wear where scope mounts were previously fitted. Perfect for low-light hunting conditions, especially on a moving target. Think whitetail at dusk -- this high-quality optic will not fail you.

Features:
  • Magnification: 1.5-6x variable zoom
  • Objective Lens Diameter: 42mm for excellent light gathering
  • T Multi-Coating:* Enhances brightness and reduces glare
  • Reticle: German #4 (three heavy posts with a fine crosshair)
  • Main Tube: 30mm construction for durability
  • Origin: Marked "West Germany," making it a collectible pre-reunification model
  • Serial Number: 388215

Actually — I erred on the price — originally listed at $1000, let’s go with $900 to your door.

Whit from your photos there appears to be some damage to the scope i.e. scratches and a bent eye piece. Is it just me or the photographs?

Yes, the photos were taken about three weeks ago -- these photos accurately reflect condition. There are a few surface scratches, and there's wear on the scope's number adjustment (the 3.5, 4, 4.5 and 5.5 are partially rubbed away), and yes, the eye piece is slightly bent inwards (visible in the photos). From conversations with the previous owner, he hunted South Africa on several occasions and wild pigs in Germany's Thuringia region (dense forest).

$700 to your door.

Saw a good looking knife you posted a pic of with the watermelon. Can I ask the make? Looks like you hunted with Guav Johnson? We overlapped in the Save once. Would like to hunt with him one day..
