Fair point, luckily I have met John in person and sold a blaser to him. I have met several members in person on here as well. A quick name search or profile view would yield that information. There have been a number of instances recently on this, and other sites, especially with these Garmins, where an account is hacked and the item posted for sale at a price that gets folks to jump in quickly. Turn out to be scams. Not saying that's what this is, but best protection is to not pay by PayPal F&F, Venmo or Zelle where you have no recourse. Use PayPal goods and services even if costs a few dollars more. Even safer is to ask the seller to do a video call with him holding the object. If he refuses on the payment method or call, move on. Just my .02, but a search will yield a lot of info. Don't do the name on paper deal, it's too easy to Photoshop.
Thank you for the reminder. I did take pause and called Brummer so as to verify it was actually him. He and I have dealt together before but… that doesn’t mean his account couldn’t have been hacked. There have been a number of instances recently on this, and other sites, especially with these Garmins, where an account is hacked and the item posted for sale at a price that gets folks to jump in quickly.
