All of my hunting has been done in Zimbabwe. I have hunted Dande North, Chewore South, and the Save Conservancy, all with PH Mike Payne. I have also done a leopard hunt in the Shangani region of Zimbabwe. The avatar photo is of the bull I took in May this year in the Save on Gunundwe Ranch. After picking up tracks at a pan, we followed a blood laced spoor into the thickest jess imaginable. After an hour or so of dead slow tracking with double rifles at port arms, Mike spotted the bull 15 yards away under a tree. As I took a step around and to the right of my PH, the bull stood and took a step towards us. I took this dagga boy with Woodleigh solids from my WJ Jeffery double in .475 No.2 Jeffery NE. This rifle belonged to former PH Owain Lewis, and this was the second buffalo I had taken with it. As soon as I learn how to post photos, I will share a few.

Welcome in the best Forum.
You are carrying an extraordinary double rifle
Beautiful and historic.
Owain Lewis was killed by buffalo in Summer 2012
Proud that you are here.

Morning Rob, Any feeling for how the 300 H&H shoots? How's the barrel condition?

Hello. I see you hunted with Sampie recently. If you don't mind me asking, where did you hunt with him? Zim or SA? And was it with a bow? What did you hunt?

I am possibly going to book with him soon.
Currently doing a load development on a .404 Jeffrey... it's always surprising to load .423 caliber bullets into a .404 caliber rifle. But we love it when we get 400 Gr North Fork SS bullets to 2300 FPS, those should hammer down on buffalo. Next up are the Cutting Edge solids and then Raptors... load 200 rounds of ammo for the customer and on to the next gun!
