Must be a hacked account? 2200+ positive feedback is rarely a scam.
The price was too good. I dislike hackers in the extreme sense.Looking at the feedback I would have jumped on that. However, cash to a PO Box??? You would have to be an absolute fool.
It’s gun broker so you’re better protected against fraud compared to other online sites.Looking at the feedback I would have jumped on that. However, cash to a PO Box??? You would have to be an absolute fool.
I must respectfully disagree. Gunbroker’s buyers protection plan covers all of $500 minus a $100 deductible. It covers nothing essentially. If you purchase by credit card you can report the fraud and get reimbursement but most scammers don’t take cc. What I really hate about Gunbroker is that they could take steps to help mitigate this by doing a much better job of vetting sellers like verifying sellers identification and obtaining credit card information from the seller, etc.. like some of the other online sites like guns.com and gunsinternational. They could but they won’t, apparently their business model is successful enough they feel no need to change. It’s gun broker so you’re better protected against fraud compared to other online sites.
Things that jump out at me; that many sales and only taking a money order is a red flag. That many sales and nothing recent feedback wise since August is a red flag. That many sales and not having a bunch of items listed.
As someone who sells on gun broker a bit, I had to verify my bank account to them and credit card. I’ve had buyers and sellers try to scam me (both over the limit you posted) and Gun Broker has protected/refunded in both instances.I must respectfully disagree. A buddy of mine bought a nice Sako Safari AIV 375 h&h there about a month ago for a reasonable price.Excellent shop and people. I stop in and look whenever I’m in San Antonio. The owner is a huge Model 70 collector.
That might be their policy in writing but they will protect above it. Additionally some banks will protect you as a buyer/seller, and like you mentioned some credit cards offer you as a buyer better protection.View attachment 644333
I too sell and buy on Gunbroker quite a bit as well. If a buyer is scammed out of money, they will cover up to $500 minus a $100 deductible nor can you talk to a live person.
Although the above situation where a legitimate sellers information was hacked on the English 416 Rigby for $5000, if a buyer was foolish enough to try and buy it, I assure you they would net be compensated by Gunbroker more than $500, their written rules, not mine.
I do not see the number of online scams with guns international, guns America and guns, com, although they are not online auction sites, they just sell. Haven’t studied the situation on Gunbroker in-depth, but they have way more scammers, and the occasional shill bidding, easy to identify by most who do their due diligence.
I’ll continue to use Gunbroker, I just proceed with caution and recommend others do the same.
I'm with @mdwest , it looks more like an '03 Springfield action to me; but still a great rifle nonetheless. I could do without the integral muzzle brake, but looks like a well built rifle.Someone please save me from myself. Great deal at Cabela’s. Freddy Brunner Mauser 30-06, used but excellent condition. On sale for $780, ($150 off). https://www.basspro.com/shop/en/101467393

It sure is! What a beautiful rifle for someone. I’ve always liked the Montana Rifle Company’s products. They are good value for the dollar. If it were in practically any other caliber, I might buy it, but I don’t think I need two 458 Lotts. That’s a whole lotta gun for that price
