Good Gun Deals This Week

I’m loving the conversion Renner did to my No 1 in .22 hornet. A light No 1 is the perfect platform for the hornet.

Current bid is at $3,425.00 with 5 days left; I'm sure yours was probably a better deal.

Spotted this at my local Cabelas today in Allen, Texas. Not a bad price on a Ruger No. 1, if you have use for the caliber and don't mind the muzzle brake. The scope was one of the old TV-screen Redfields.

That is interesting! I’ve never seen a ported barrel on one? Of course, I’m no expert on these.
Same here; I haven't either. And I think you're correct that it would more accurately be called Magnaported than a muzzle brake.

I think theyre going to be holding onto that rifle for a while.. I saw it up there a few weeks ago and sent a pic of it to @Goopy (who I know loves #1's)..

between the 338 RUM (not much demand for that in TX.. or many other places for that matter), the brake, and the fact that a #1 isnt known to be a very recoil forgiving design... my guess is its going to sit on the shelf a while.. even at that price..

My thoughts exactly.

I agree. Try and find factory ammo and/or reloading brass at a REASONABLE price for the .338 RUM could be a quest in and of itself. Then you have the excessive recoil in the #1, although the brake would tame it down somewhat. I personally would pass.

Agreed, it’s gonna be there a while.

Reminds me of a rifle at McBride’s in Austin; it’s. Remington 700 in .416Rem with a muzzle brake and baby shit green paint job…..

I believe it’s been there for 7+ years now.

Chopped up the whole thing as I kept hitting the 240 character limit...
Found out the trigger word in the end... It was muzzle or velocity. dropped them and it posted.:)
