Strange, that rifle was listed there 6 months ago, later advertised for sale here from a member in the classifieds then returned to the store and upped the price by $800.

Respectfully, I firmly believe that laser engraving a full name into the wood of a classically styled double would greatly impact its financial value…personal aesthetics/preferences aside.

I just wanted to bring it to a potential buyer’s attention as it was rather hard to see in the photos.

By all means, buy the rifle if you like it.

I thought I've seen a Heym 88 PH 500 NE several month back, but I did not realized it is the same rifle.

I'm sure the same thing happened at least twice with a 416 Rigby Kilimanjaro (sold last year). I figured that someone purchased it, took it for an african hunt than trade it back in.

wasn't there a thread recently of a guy wanting to find a 500NE for about 15KUSD? I believe 18KCAD is about 15KUSD ?

edit: found him: @Teampowpow --> this is the double rifle you should be looking for if you want a good .500NE

Isn't 19 000 euros a rather reasonable price for a Hartmann & Weiss in .416 Rigby? I always thought they would be much more expensive. It does looks really nice with engraving and beautiful wood.

Allready having a custom rifle in .375 H&H on order myself and waiting somewhat patiently for that one I am really not in the market for a .416 Rigby so I was thinking that perhaps it could be an item of interest for someone here on the forum. I know nothing about the gun store in question, just found the rifle when googling for inspirational pictures in the big game rifle genre.

I would consider a Hartmann & Weiss of higher value than a Rigby Big Game. You would only get a barebones Big Game at around 15KEUR. This one from a better name, get's you some nice engraving and gold inlay.

I would think that H&W would be about 45K+ euros if commissioned today? Just glanced at pictures on my phone and may be off. At auction, in USD, I would think it would bring somewhere near 30K. They are very nice!

Indeed. Trying to decide what’s the best route, also it appears I need to further my education on these double rifles Before I jump all in
But I definitely appreciate the consideration
