Got my moose horns back (well my sons)

Not as cool as some of y'als afri a mounts but still a priceless memory of his first multi day hunt.

When I said cool I meant exotic. But you are right the memories and his smile are irreplaceable.

Hunted a couple times in the Charley River Preserve. Float hunted once and back packed the second time, both were awesome trips!

That is beautiful country there. I just started to try to plan a 100 or 200 mile boat trip for bear off of the Yukon for next year. So far it looks like it will be running the Yukon towards charley bit we will hit some of the small rivers looking for monster bear.

Do you plan on coming back up to try again?

Hope to make it up again next year if everything works out. Wanting to do another float trip, just the amount of animals we saw was worth the trip.

No sir, planned off of topo maps and google earth at my kitchen table! Lol

That the way to do it!! If I am still here when you come up next (although fairbanks is a long ways away) and you want to try to get after a moose or caribou let me know. (Caribou during the fall hunt is crazy but fun you can be surrounded by 1000s of caribou at a time)

No it does Not! Even if no trophy the memories are irreplaceable.

@PARA45 I love it here I am going to try to epcot. Been in 10 years. (Hopefully I make tech this year lol). I don' know how much longer I will stay with it going like it is.. Thank you for your service sir 34 years is something very few people can do congrats again. Shoot me a pm and we can see if we can get you on a moose.

Congrats on your hunt. Taking the boy with you while he is too young to hunt and him enjoying it almost assures that in a few years he will want to hunt beside you. IMHO too many guys wait until their kids are older but by that time many are lost to iPads and video games. A chance at the real thing is of little interest to them.
